I have a fighter with both Weapon Focus and Specialization. Is there a way to just change which weapon both feats target, or am I going to have to use three retrain options to change my fighting style? (and be ridiculously underpowered for 2 levels)

Arguably, in theory you can use two.

Retrain Weapon Focus to another Weapon Focus. - Weapon Specialisation becomes a dead feat and you can't use it as you no longer qualify.

Then next level Retrain the Weapon Spec.

However, there are some big concerns with this idea - such as Retraining weapon focus after getting weapon spec, then getting weapon focus for free elsewhere (e,g: war domain) and weapon spec being useful again...

Hmm several issues there... Is there some ruling on this? I would argue you have to retrain Weapon Spec first and then Weapon Focus, and then Weapon Spec back to the new weapon, but I can see the first argument being valid...

It's illegal to retrain weapon focus because it makes weapon spec invalid.

I think you'd need to retrain weapon spec to something else, retrain weapon focus to another weapon, then retrain the weapon spec.

A better option would be to retrain weapon spec to the new weapon focus, then add weapon spec in the new weapon with your next feat slot. Then you can retrain the original weapon focus at your leisure. Depending on your current level, you might be able to do this the next time you level.

Rediculously underpowered? If it is that bad a drop off, you are probably better off staying with your current weapon.

Retraining the old specialzation for the new focus and then turning the old focus in for new specialization only puts you down for one level that you have an additional Weapon Focus throughout.

Depending on what level he took Weapon Focus, he probably won't be able to retrain it into Weapon Spec (ie, you couldn't retrain a feat you took at level 2 to a feat that requires you to be level 4).
