Sacred Healing (CD) allows you, as a standard (or move, can't remember) action, to grant Fast Healing 3 to all living allies within 60 ft.

Sacred Healing (PHB2) grants, as a swift action, a bonus to heal checks and damage healed by Conjuration (Healing) spells.

If I were to gain access to the PHB2 sacred healing, could I have both, or, because they've got the same name, could I only have one?

Thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't have both...they don't duplicate each other. I get the feeling that the phb2 version won't be allowed as it does duplicate Augment Healing -- which would make RSoP/N even more insane in terms of healing/spell level.

Mass Cure Light (character level 9):

1d8 + 10 (CL with healing domain) + 10 (augment) + 10 (sacred) = 34.5 average, free empowered makes it 51.75. That's a ton of healing from one die :)

Consider the AoE's you'd take at that level -- 10d6 fireballs (35 damage, average). You'd probably be guilty of overhealing :D

Compare it to a level 5 (same as CLW, Mass) spell instead, say an Empowered fireball. 15d6 is on average 52.5. As I understand it, things like augment healing are designed to make it so that healing can come close to keeping up with damage dealt, rather than just falling further and further behind.

Augment Healing is still better. IIRC, It gives 2 bonus points per spell level.

Sacred Healing (PHB2) only gives 2 bonus points per die.

And Augment Healing is an all day affair, whereas Sacred Healing (PHB2) functions off of turn attempts/day.

ah, that's what I get for not re-reading it. 2/die isn't quite as good, though burning turn attempts isn't the worst for classes that have to take Extra Turning.

I had thought to re-edit to include Empower (could be off a rod).

You could take it if you gained access as they have been deemed seperate feats.. but I can't imagine any character for whom it would really be a good idea.

I had a build idea that was a "stick-with-me-and-you'll-never-die" kind of cleric.

Taking both makes it that much easier to cure people without spending all your high level slots.

Taking divine Ward or Divine Fortune would be better.

Hate to bring out an old thread, but I was searching for rulings about these two feats, whether the phb2 one overrules the CD one. If its true that they're separate, could someone point me to the source of this ruling?

The LGCS lists "Sacred Healing (CD)" as an Open Feat.
It does not list the PHB2 version and PHB2 was already out at the time the LGCS was published (as you can see from the numerous references in it).

Britt has clarified that this was deliberate -you might try searching the Dispel Confusions for it if you really need something official more explicit than the LGCS.
