| Jay_Ibero_91102-21-07, 01:33 PM | You have to use the version named in the LGCS...........Sacred Healing (CD) would be the Complete Divine version. I don't think so. Despite the fact that the LGCS names the Complete Divine version in the open feats section, the LGCS states the campaign also uses the most recent printing of rules options for any of the books used in the campaign. PHB2 IS now part of the campaign, and therefore the sacred healing feat from PHB2 is the most recent printing of that feat. Similarly, Races of the Wild contains the most recent printing of Improved Flight, despite the LGCS naming the Complete Adventurer version. And nowhere in the LGCS does it state that you are to use the version listed in the LGCS over the most recent printing, so until there is some official campaign erratta or dispel confusion, technically you can only use the PHB2 version of Sacred Healing and the RotW version of Improved Flight according to the LGCS. |

We use the CD version of Sacred Healing in LG. Ok, well now the intent is clear, but by saying that you now call the definition of a reprint into question. From what you are saying, just having the same name is not enough for something to qualify as a reprint. Obviously if everything about a rules option remains the same, then it IS a reprint, but then it doesn't matter what book you are looking at. So at what level of change to a rules item does it go from being a reprint to being a new rules item with the same name? And how does that impact Improved Flight as well? Because between Complete Adventurer and RotW, the only thing that changed was the pre-req's....Are you saying that even such a minor change to a rules option changes it's status? If that is the case, why not just drop the most recent printing rule from the LGCS entirely and just stick with the "whatever version is listed rule"? |
| bhale18702-21-07, 01:49 PM | From LGCS "if a new rule book changes an existing rule option, continue to use the previous version until instructed otherwise by official campaign documentation" |
| Jay_Ibero_91102-21-07, 01:53 PM | From LGCS "if a new rule book changes an existing rule option, continue to use the previous version until instructed otherwise by official campaign documentation" Exactly, a NEW rulebook, as in one not currently being used in the campaign. And right before your quoted statement it says: "LG uses the most recent printing of rules options from any of the books listed at the beginning of this chapter." Now, unfortunately it doesn't list any books at the beginning of the chapter, however in the section regarding access is a complete list of books currently available for player use in LG. I take it to mean that if a rules item shows up in more than one of the books listed there, you use the most recent version. |
| bhale18702-21-07, 01:57 PM | My post #2 was written before I saw your post #2, and after reading it I can see your point. In the case of Sacred healing is seemed obvious to me since the benefits of the 2 versions are so entirely different, but in the case of a minor change I see your point of confusion for players. I would personally much prefer it stated the rule book to use and drop the "most recent printing" line. |

| bhale18702-22-07, 08:15 AM | Britt Has Spoken! For this particular case, yes, but that does not clear up the two-sided wording of the LGCS on the issue. |
