Size of purchased equipment [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-19-07, 04:49 AM I saw a couple of other threads talking about this. Are we now able to purchase any of the items in Appendix 4 in sizes from Tiny to Large no matter our size ? Or was wording accidentally left out restricting people to equipment only for their size (or I guess their familiar or animal companions size)

I guess they finally realized it's stupid that a small character could ALWAYS get everything in small size, and a medium character could ALWAYS get everything in medium size, but the medium character couldn't get anything in small size or vice-verca without specific access...

Yep. I very much like the new wording. Hats off to the Circle and LGCS writers.

In the draft it was: All items are of an appropriate size for your PC, unless explicitly stated otherwise (small for halflings, medium for
dwarves, large for centaurs).

... which was ambiguous, either requiring us to only explicitly write it as we purchased it, or have explicit access for medium items if small (and I know some halflings out there using medium weapons who would be screwed then).

The new and current text is:
All items may be of any size from Tiny to Large and of either
normal or masterwork quality.

... which is awesome since it has none of those ambiguity problems, and it finally lets people use the Monkey Grip feat. Monkey Grip is not a great feat, and it didn't need the amount of punishment it had.
