Why are skill tricks not available? I like the look of the acrobatic backstab and my rogue character would like this trick.

Mostly because the Circle haven't had time to assess them properly

..also because several of them are grossly overpowered.

Same reason alternate rules items from say Tome of Magic and Tome of Battle are not available. To much variation on rules that are overly complicated as it is just makes it harder for DM's, The Triads and the Circle to adjudicate things

I'm kinda sad about the skill tricks not being in. I know they need balancing, but some of the fun cinematic stuff that's missing from LG these days can finally be adjudicated - "My character runs up the wall next to the creature, jumps backwards off of it, and holds himself up in the corner, throwing a dagger."

I know they need balancing, but some of the fun cinematic stuff that's missing from LG these days can finally be adjudicated [...]A creative DM doesn't need the skill tricks to adjudicate something like that -- he can do it based on the skills you have (the above example requiring high Climb and Jump checks, IMO)
