Is there any clear documentation or rulings on how the Spellpool feature for the Mage of the Arcane Order (MotAO) prestige class works for Sorcerer’s in Living Greyhawk?

P.S. I have done an advanced search of the wizard’s boards, but came up with nothing relating to LG.

Do you have one of the feats that actually allows you to prepare spells? Otherwise, sorcerers are not eligible for that particular PrC.

The only Circle ruling I am aware of is here (http://www.theocracyofthepale.com/gamerules/circle_rulings.html#motaospellpool).

Thanks for the help. I will have Arcane Preparation in order to qualify for the Prestige Class, and I have seen that post on the Pale's website.

What I was really after were the mechanics of the "open" slot, as defined under the spellpool description in Complete Arcane and as it relates to a sorcerer. Are a sorcerer's spells all considered "open" slots? I can see some potential problems with table variation and I would like to clarify the situation, if possible, well before I take the prestige class.

Any help would be appreciated.

"Open" slots work like this.

Sorcerer S uses Arcane Preparation to prepare a 4th level slot as "Open." that slot is filled with nothing. The only way to take advantage of that spell slot is with the spell pool class feature of MotAO.

You have to specifically declare that these spell slots are "open." Personally, I think you are better off marking them as "Spell Pool" slots since that is what effectly are.
