All of the spell changes for the spell compendium are official errata for LG and DnD in general. There is an excellent list in the LGCS of spell level changes. However, when I was just browsing, I found that not only did blades of fire change level from 2nd to 1st but also changed from doing D6 fire to D8. A little more looking showed that benign transposition increased from short to medium range. These are both relevant changes, and I was wondering if there is a list of all the spells that had been changed like that.

Replying to my own thread here, but I also noticed ring of blades had been changed, and it had already been subject to errata once for complete arcane. I am starting to get the feeling that the most relevant reason to buy the complete arcane is the errata, which in the past Wotc has provided for free. Not a good trend.

Yes, there is, but I didn't know about the Blades of Fire change. Thanks for mentioning it.

Here's the latest LG Spell List including Spell Compendium updates, per Dispel Confusion Vol. 2, No. 1.

In your favorite word processor, turn on hidden text to see some extra features (former book, former spell level, changes to spells) that will only really matter during the next month or two while we all get used to the new spell versions in the Spell Compendium. You can print that hidden text, too, if you tell your printer to do so.

Here are two ways to view hidden text:
===
1. In MS Word, you click on the "paragraph" icon. In my MS Word 2003, there's a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl-*. That's the Ctrl key and the Shift key and the 8 key, all at the same time.
===
2. Here's the free, official MS Word viewer program.

http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.asp

Install and run that program then open my .RTF file.

Click on the Tools menu, choose Options...

Near the middle of the Options dialog box, under Formatting Marks, click on the Hidden Text checkbox.

Now you can view the hidden text.

Remember that this is not an official LG campaign document; it's just my effort to help LG spellcasters. I suspect there are still some errors lurking in the list, and I didn't completely review all of the Complete Adventurer spells for differences in their Spell Compendium versions. As you find these, please send them to me and I'll incorporate them as time permits.

Thank you for telling me about this excellent resource. With all the cores covered, looking up limited spells is not a problem, as only the ones you have access to are an issue. Apparently they made backbiter stronger.
