I was wondering if there was a standard (DMG or PHB) item or spell that maintains fresh foods or raw ingredients in LG. Yes this is an odd request, but I was curious.

Cheers.

My dwarf has a BeerHammer(TM).

It's a masterwork adamantine maul in the form of a heavy armored and insulated keg of beer, attached to a 4 foot hollow metal handle. There's a spigot on the pommel for easy access to the beer.

Chill Metal works great before pouring out a nice drought of the good stuff. :D

2nd Edition D&D used to have the Jar of Preservation, which did exactly what you asked about, preserving foodstuffs and even small animals in stasis indefinately. Dunno if it got converted in the MIC.

You should be able to use gentle repose to preserve meat, IMO, and then there's purify food and water, which won't preserve anything but will do the next best thing.

Is your beer carbonated? Cause after smashing an orc with your BeerHammer(TM) and trying to enjoy a sip, wouldn't it explode out the spigot into your face?

How about a Bag of Holding or a Handy Haversack? Does food spoil in an extra-dimensional space? A Bag of Holding specifically states that a living creature will suffocate after 10 minutes. Doesn't that mean there isn't a lot of air in there? Isn't air the usual way bacteria and bugs get to food to make it bad?

There's always Create Food & Water for clerics...who needs to keep anything fresh when you just make new food every day?

No need; there's already just such an item in Races of the Dragon. It's called Angriz's chest; costs 1000gp, weighs 50lbs., about 4 ft. on a side, and keeps dead flesh preserved indefinitely. Uses gentle repose during construction...

I have access to a box that produces food daily (up to 15 people or 5 horses iirc)

Blue Ice Mugs and kegs work. With any luck, they will be in a mod out there sometime in the next year or so...
