clannagh 01-09-08, 05:20 PM	A couple of questions about stone blessed. 1) Do you both gain all the racial traits of the new race and retain those of your old race as well ? 2) Where your existing race already has +2 con and +4 AC against giants do the new (apparently un-named) bonuses stack with your existing ones ?

You gain nothing not explicitly stated in the prestige class and don't lose anything the class doesn't say you lose. The con boost stacks with everything, it's no different than a dragon disciple ability boost. As far as the racial dodge bonus...in general dodge bonuses stack, but it's from a specific ability...so it's kinda fuzzy...but I'm inclined to say it wouldn't stack as it is a redundant ability rather than an additional ability. The only time it would matter is if you were a gnome going dwarf stone blessed, or vice versa though...

Funny you should say that, It is a Dwarf going gnome Stoneblessed (potentially) So yeah the Dodge thing is kind of an issue. Would be hilarious too imo.

I'm inclined to say that it wouldn't stack because it's giving you a racial trait you already have, just like if you have a half-dragon dwarf...it has darkvision 60ft from 2 sources, but they don't stack.

The AC bonus is not unnamed, it is a dodge bonus, and dodge bonuses from different sources always stack. Take Combat Dodge and Titan Fighting if you really want to abuse this +8, although it works better the other way around (gnome with Dwarf Stoneblessed, so Titan Fighting applies to medium creatures.)

Having re-read the PrC...it seems that the dodge bonuses would stack, because the class isn't granting a racial ability, but merely an ability that happens to be identical to one. Which makes it exceptionally cheesy in combination with Dodge, Titan Fighting, and Combat Defense...
