I've got a question reguarding the Suel people. They're an allowed PC race, since there isn't just human but one of several types of human or a mix of those.

Can I say my Suel character was originally from Lerara? Just curious if there was a rule against it is all, since I doubt most people would even know what that place is.

Aside from the fact that Lerara was prominent in a module of the same name?

There are very few rules actually against anything.

As for being consistent with the setting, the Lerara are more like the Underfolk from Races of Destiny than regular humans. Even though you couldn't take one of those, your appearance should still be freakish to people, and you should be uncomfortable in sunlight.
And while few people would know where that is, those that do would most likely consider a PC from there as quite unnatural.

Well, for starters the Lerara (an actual sub-species of Suel humans as indicated in COR3-16 Lerara) had daylight aversion which meant that if they enter the sunlight, they take 1 point of constitution damage every hour. Definetly a no-no for adventurers.

That being said, if you could be a Lerara adventurer, it would essentially mean that you are human with exceptional low-light vision and no bonus feat, since that would be used for "daylight adaptation" feat so you could actually leave your little hole in the ground :D

Of course, looking at typical Lerara personalities, I think -2 penalty to Charisma would be in order.

No, I wasn't thinking of doing it to have a racial bonus or anything. I was just looking at one of my old 2nd edition boxes and they had an aventure hook that was surprizingly similar to that particular core mod. ;)

It didn't mention anything about con penalties or anything and I wouldn't want them. It's just an idea for some roleplaying.

The Lerara are not Suloise at this point. They're a completely separate race after years of time in the Underoerth. So you can't have a PC who is Leraran.
