I have been playing LG games for a few months now and my character has some AR sheets from Bright sands. Now that I have money saved up I want to try to get some of the goodies on these sheets, but I have questions.

1. what is the difference between Access and a favor that lets you pay purchase equipment? One of these favors says "Grants core access to ..." I understand that, but another says "Use this favor once for a ... " When can I use that? after any? after a core?

2. One favor says. " ... to any weapon or armor that could be crafter by a cleric." I don'e see in the DMG where it restricsa what items a cleric can craft. Could I use it to get a magic rapier crafted?

1. Unless the text says otherwise, you can use top-box favours at any time, as far as I know.

2. That's not a wonderfully worded favour, and requires a bit of work on your part. Essentially you'll have to go through the weapons and armour sections of the DMG and check which upgrades or specific items have spell-requirements which clerics can cast, and which don't. One caveat though: remember that you already have access to any PHB weapon or armour with a basic +1 enhancement bonus, so you can get a +1 rapier for 2320gp. It's only if you want something more than +1 or something with a particular extra power (like flaming or merciful).

Well I have looked at the sheet again and I did not read it correctly.

It states core access to any +1 (APL 4-8 that is where i played) weapon or armor special ability from the DMG that could be crafted by a cleric.

the other one says use this favor once for any +1 enhancement upgrade to any weapon, shield, armor ect...

I guess that the question I have is what kinds of +1 enhancements can be crafted by a cleric

OK.

So what you need to do is look over all the enhancements in the DMG which have a +1 cost, and check which ones only require spells which clerics can cast. Some of them probably require sorcerer/wizard spells, and these couldn't be crafted by a cleric.

Note that a weapon with a particular +1 special ability has to also have a +1 enhancement, so is at least a +2 cost weapon (8300gp plus ordinarly weapon cost.)
