Basically what Im really getting at here, is I want to make a Crafter with the Leadership feat (and therefore a high Cha) with the intent of crafting lots of items and handing them out to people including the cohort. |

It might increase the number of spells he could get off in a day to be able to create scrolls or wands, but that's about it. Before taking a crafting feat, check to see exactly which items you could make with it and evaluate whether or not it would be really be worth the opportunity cost of taking craft wand just to give a wand to another party member, or increase the number of times you can cast fireball in a day. All of the crafting feats require a number of caster levels as a prerequisite, so a pure rogue could not use UMD to be qualify to take them. But a spellcaster with the appropriate feat and UMD could use a scroll or wand to satisfy the spell component of the item's requirements. You would need to UMD one casting of the spell (using a scroll or item charge) for every day that it takes to create the item. It makes the item a bit more expensive to create, but can make it possible for a warmage, specialist wizard, or other caster to craft an item that requires a spell which they do not know. Patty |

Not only does it give you an upfield blocker, but you can easily manufacture +2 armor, +2 shield, flaming weapon for that guy. Also, you can make a pile of arrows to use with your magic bow. Flaming arrows, shocking arrows, etc. Hand 'em out, or use them yourself. |
