Despite flaws, errors, outdated entries and omisions we've been tied to certain random item tables for access.

I was wondering why we continue to use them instead of using something far simpler like 'any scroll, potion or wand of an open spell that has a value of Xgp or lower'?

I can see many arguements for moving towards this. I'd like to hear the reasonings for not doing so (and then try to debate that to hopefully to effect this change for next year).

Thanks and have a good day,

James

My guess is that it's similar to the trained for war thing.

There is something we're not allowed to know about that restricts them to using tables, because the question is generally ducked and evaded or ignored whenever it comes up.

At least in this LGCS crafters of potions don't have to use the potion table. That was just asinine.

I have a feeling its so that we're limited to what is available via the DMG?

Also, what solbergb said.
