When you wildshape, you are no longer an animal, you are a humanoid which looks like an animal, so this paragraph doesn't seem to apply. In any case, I'm curious what other GMs would say if my druid wildshaped as a tiger was wearing a monk's belt. Is that appropriate? I figure if it has hips it would work...same goes for rings, if you have digits, you can wear a ring. Thanks for your opinions.

I'd say the slot limitations would still apply because the point is it's based on the physical shape of the creature, not the creature type. Also, when you wildshape, all your gear melds, so you'd have to get someone to put the belt on you AFTER you wildshape, assuming the GM at your table rules that a belt is appropriate for the animal form you take.

Thanks for your reply - I should have specified this is a post-wildshape equipping of items question. I don't want to waste my money on this item if most GMs would rule I can't wear this item. Maybe the upcomming 'rules compendium' will answer this question. :)

From the official FAQ. Does a monk’s belt (Dungeon Master’s Guide, 248) grant a non-monk wearer his Wisdom bonus to AC? Yes. Note, however, that the wearer gains the AC bonus only when unarmored and unencumbered, since the belt clearly states that “this AC bonus functions just like the monk’s AC bonus.”
copper_wyrmling 10-05-07, 12:26 AM	The LGCS would override the FAQ, if it still had the entry on the monk's belt, but searching "monk" and "belt" doesn't get me anything relevant, so I'm pretty sure it's been removed and we should use the FAQ rule.
Timlagor 10-06-07, 01:11 PM	I would allow a tiger to wear a belt -though it would have to go around the chest... a tiger's hips are not well placed for belts.
