Does an XP penalty due to multiclassing get applied before or after a module's XP cap?

For example, say for instance, an AR4 module awards a total of 850 XP, but is capped at 675 XP. If I'm playing an Elven Rogue 3/Sorcerer 1, do I gain 675 (80% of 850, capped to 675) XP for that particular adventure, or 540 XP?

Does the same rule apply to gold?

It is a penalty to the experience you receive. You only receive the amount listed on the AR so both gold and exps are 80% of what is listed on the AR for the appropriate APL.

Yes, that is another good point to make: Multiclassing penaties apply to both XP and Gold in LG.

After the cap

Does the same rule apply to gold?

Yes

who has a 20% and 40% penalty character and is glad that both are pretty fun with their current levels/equipment because it seems to take MUCh longer to accumulate gold/xp heh...

Here is a good one. If you have a penalty to XP due to multiclassing and you play more than 2 levels away from your Character Level do you take both penalties or is it limited to 50%?

After re-reading the relevant text, I'm convinced that the LGCS is inconclusive. It could be read either way.

Both penalties are based on xp/gp gained in the adventure. Only the multiclass penalties are limited to 50%, as the LGCS states. Two independent clauses separated by a semicolon necessarily indicate linked ideas (assuming proper use of grammar).
