I'm not allowed to answer your question in the Q&A thread, but part of the answer to 'can I craft after each part of RHoD?' etc is in this Dispel Confusion

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgif/20061219a

"Q: Can I craft items after an adaptable (sic) adventure? After an adaptable adventure, can I buy items to which I have core access? Can I bring my cohort along on adaptable adventures?

A: Yes. Treat Adaptable adventures as core adventures for these purposes."

From what I understand, being 2/5 through RHoD, is that each 'part' counts as one adventure. That's not stated anywhere in the DC; it might be in the Adaptation Document. I think that this means the following: you can craft, and spend TUs to do non-adventuring activity after each part. Each part counts as 1 adventure for the purposes of Adventure access to items, and favours, curses and other AR (and metaorg, potentially) entries which require you to track how many adventures you've played. Each part has its own GP cap, and unless otherwise specified you cannot carry items found across from one part to another - they are abstracted into gp at the end of the part.

That's just my understanding of it, but it flows logically from there being five ARs which are treated like Core adventures. Hope it helps a bit!

Thanks muchly. I'll have my DM re-read the packet, too, to make sure. I'm at the point where I could craft some bane weapons or stat buff items for the party and it could make a lot of difference.

Jesse,

I don't know who your DM is on this, but what you may be running into is that the rule on crafting in ADPs changed in that DC from late December. It sounds like the DM may have played part or parts of the mod prior to the DC, and thus started off on the old standard.

Also note that you have limited TUs for non-RHoD material, given the 51TU. Some DMs have indicated that they consider crafting to eliminate your option to borrow TUs from 2008.

Britt has said in the Questions/Answers thread that this is not the case. Crafting and other non-adventuring activity does not stop a PC from borrowing from 2008 TUs. Thus any DMs that consider this to not be the case are actually in the wrong.

That should solve that, then, along with a reference.

Thanks, Bitz.

Alright, I can't seem to find the specific ruling at the moment, my attempt to sort the answers into something useful is not yet complete. Anyway, here are a couple related posts. I'll see if I can't find something better.

Edit: alright, it looks like I was thinking of the retraining answer from that second link. However, that being said, crafting is not one of the things mentioned that would prevent a PC from borrowing 2008 TUs:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgad/20061025a
PCs attempting to complete this adventure before it expires on December 31, 2007 may do so by borrowing TUs from their 2008 allotment. This requires the following to be in effect:

* You must complete all play sessions for this adventure before December 31, 2007.
* You cannot play any other adventures in between the parts of this adventure. You must play all five parts consecutively.
* You can only borrow TUs from 2008 to pay for the final part (part five, which costs 16 TUs) of this adventure. You must use all of your 2007 TUs before borrowing the balance from your 2008 TUs, so the maximum you can borrow is 16 TUs from 2008. The TUs are immediately removed from your 2008 allotment the moment you begin play in 2008. Be sure to note this information on the ARs so it is clear if you do borrow TUs.
