Hey, all.

Wow. Living Greyhawk in Salt Lake City, Utah (Nyrond) has been blowing up. A lot of fun since I started attending LG last February. We have CONduit 14 (http://www.warhorn.net/conduit/) this weekend, which shall be a lot of fun.

Anyway, I just received my Dragon #292 of February 2002. I have been playing catch up with both magazines and been ordering them a few at a time. This specific issue noted in the Living Greyhawk Journal that RPGA members will be able to play titles like The Sunless Citadel and perhaps sections of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

That sounds like a lot of fun to me. But, since I have just recently joined, did I miss adventures of that nature? Or, did LG kibosh the idea. And, did Fright at Tristor make a return that year (May 2002)?

That would be awesome if they did, though I highly doubt that they could because those adventures can be bought by anyone ahead of time and then players can cheat. I know it sounds stupid but there are some pathetic gamers out there who can't have their precious characters dieing.

If it weren't for that unfortunate fact, I'd love to play The Sunless Citadel as I'm one of the few who haven't and I've heard some very good things.

Hi

The ToEE was a special event run a couple of years ago, last year we had Return to the Ghost Tower of Inverness and Assault on the Drow. This year IIRC the GenCon special event is Castle Greyhawk.

So there are chances to play these iconic adventures.

Tristor has not re-emerged and no-one has mentioned it for a while so it may have been shelved given the nightmare of the original.

Okay, cool. Thanks, StevieS. While it does sound like a great idea, it looks like the mechanics of adapting those adventures to LG is more challenging than it appears.

No problem, though. We shall see how things develop. Thanks, again for the response. :)

Actually they were adapted (I know, because I wrote the adaptations). But the entire project of releasing the Adventure Path modules for LG play was shelved because of the 3.5 conversion, and issues of accessibility.

In short, it was a good idea but it just isn't going to fly because somewhere along the line our wings got clipped by 3.5
