Introductionary modules can be acquired by contacting your local Triad through the normal channels and by providing the Triad with the convention code. They are all regional and since even they are not available on the download pages.

Actually there is one Intro mod that you can download and run: Blood on Bright Sands.

Though, keep in mind that, if you run Blood on Bright Sands, that this must be the very first mod for the PCs (as opposed to the regional Intros, which can usually be played by any 1st level PC). I think, though I may be wrong, that PCs who play BoBS also must have the Bright Lands as their home region.

No they don't need to have Bright Lands as their region for regular character races. However, if you play one of the special races available such as the Asherati or Centaur, or even the dwarf or half-orcs or humans, they need to have the Bright Lands, plus they then get access to the regional feats or other goodies.

Yes, Blood on Bright Sands is the only Core intro mod.

The "generic" Intro module on the event ordering system is just a place-holder, so you and your players can get credit for playing regional Intro modules. When you "order" that generic Intro module, there aren't any module files specifically associated with it. To play any regional Intro, you need to contact your region's Triad Point of Contact and get the actual module files.

Note that this also means that, if you live in a location that's not part of a LG region (not an issue if you live in the U.S. or Canada, but possibly an issue if you live elsewhere), you can't play any Intros besides Blood on Bright Sands.

Also note that 6 1st level characters is technically an APL 2 table anyway. Although playing intro mods is a good idea, it is possible to play an APL 2 mod with 5-6 level 1 characters (although I'd ask around for which mods might be too deadly for such a table).

I'd suggest playing at least one intro mod for your region, if not several. They're generally pretty easy, and help to show what makes your region different from the others.

One more note on this:

You can and should order your introductory adventure for your event from the RPGA as a LG Introductory Adventure as your "place holder." My understanding is that the RPGA recognizes the event as LG, which can't be bad. Just scroll down the order list (I always use the Living Greyhawk filter) to the "L"s.

Happy gaming.

When I played BoBS there were only 4 of us. We all survived. It was tough but fun. So it is possibke to play APL2 mods with less than 6 1st lvls. You just have to be careful and play well.

Allow me to point out that BoBS is specifically written for brand new 1st level PCs, so it can be tailored to a very narrow range of PCs. A typical APL 2 handles everything from four 1st level PCs to two 4th, two 2nd and 2 1st level PCs choosing to play down.

True, but there was one encounter I was suprised we survived.
