Animal Companion advancement [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-07-05, 07:36 PM I have a 5th level ranger soon to be 6th. This will allow my wolf companion to gain 2 hd per the table in the PHB. In the MM gaining the 2 hd, which takes him to 4 hd, would make him large per the advancement entry. LGCS states that only the PHB advancement takes place. The entry in the Druid section states that the companion gains the advancement in listed in the MM for skills and feats. Does this preclude all other advancement changes, specifically size. I think that is what the LGCS states, but I am hoping otherwise. :)

12-07-05, 08:25 PM Dude... the LGCS section you reference specifically provides a larger size as something that is NOT provided to an advancing animal companion.
