There are two oustanding Iuz modules, as well as zero year eights, will we be seeing these or should we just chalk it up as a good campaign and just looking for normal regionals?

Also if this is the case could we have various regional modules open up for the metareagionals that wont be offered?

Any help would be great.

Its a good question.

Some people have dropped the ball responsibilty wise, just play cores/regionals.

I would like to see these mods too, given that by all accounts they're finished and just need to be approved.

Well, I know one of the modules is outstanding... I co-wrote it! :rimshot:

It has been discussed and the relevant parties are working on getting them released. I'm not sure about the other one but mine was submitted for approval sometime after Bennifer and before Brangelina...

Almighty Joe, He Whose Hand Shapes What Is, your minions cry out for your help! We lack divine, righteous Iuz punishment- we crave the "You FAIL!" AR rewards that the Iuz region just so loves handing out... we desire massively under CR'd combats, we need to be burning rerolls every game to survive, we want to have to remove the eyes/jaws/stomaches of those who oppose us to stop Speak with Dead/find all the treasure, we need the unholy wrongness that is Iuz minions!

Please, almighty Joe! Work your magic!

The last I heard was about a month ago that the modules were "under discussion." That's not much, but it's better than none at all.

At this point, I'd simply like to be able to play *any* IUZ mods this year, even if we don't get the full contingent.

I want to see:

1) The year 6 and 7 storyline come to some sort of resolution where it almost makes sense that it replaced the 5-year theme of what makes an IUZ mod an "Iuzzie."

2) A few chances to take down whatever NPCs from Iuz the Evil haven't been doled out to individual regions... (Untiered combats all the way, baby!)

3) A short (1 or 2 mod) wrap-up to the metaregional storyline showing what happens after Iuz comes back from the Abyss. Yes, he's in the COR arc now, but ... d@##it, he's **our** chaotic evil demigod!

I miss the good old Iuzzies. A traveller said a few weeks ago 'these Iuz mods aint hard at all' and frankly that fills me with shame compared to the good old days.

One doesn't win Iuz mods, you just hope you don't have too big a favour deficit at the end...

Any word back yet from any of the circle on this? Were keenly interested in finishing the dragon arc out here in no dragon land! Please give us some more fire breathers to kill!

It'd be really appreciated if someone could step in circle wise and okay the modules and post them so we can get them out for play in the final LG con of our area.

Please look into this! :)

In case it does not work out the way you like it, you can allways play the ascension arc. Unless I am very mistaken, and of course I could be, you will be able to meet IUZ or his minions anytime during this final arc. I would therefore recommend to save your favours and prepare for battle.:D

The rumor I've heard is the individual responsible is simply "too busy" to be bothered with approving mods at this time (and probably until it's too late as well).

Cores aren't the same as the old Iuzzies.

In an Iuz you were scared. (At least I recall that) in the pre year 5 modules.

In the current Cores we just walked through em... Plus Iuz isn't as scary! In the Perrenland/Iuz modules Iuz was messed up, and had only the most powerful undead/demons/casters.

In an Iuz you were scared. (At least I recall that) in the pre year 5 modules.

Some of those weren't scary in a good way though, they were just scary in a stupid way. CL13 Blasphemy at APL 8 in a dim-locked area of the Abyss is just bad :( (because it's pretty much auto-TPK on the party of six L8 characters)

And tbh, I think a good part of the scariness level was just that we were less experienced then. I remember the flesh golem in Infiltration at APL 6 felt reasonably dangerous for my table - recently I fought two flesh golems in a room full of lightning traps at APL 6, and didn't feel remotely threatened. There was a weretiger warshaper in Stepping Into The Parlor who most of my friends thought was pretty brutal, but I fought a similar monster in a much later Core and we just cakewalked it (poor kitty got zapped for -16 Str and then tripped, grappled and pinned by our enlarged monk).

In the current Cores we just walked through em...

To be fair, they have released ONE mod in the current Ascensions arc so far ;) Play up to APL 16 with four-person unbalanced tables if you want more of a challenge ;)

Well, to be precise it is the CORS I am talking about.

Wheels Within Wheels
CORS8-02, APLs 10-16, continuous two round Core Special scenario by Britt Frey
Iuz's magnum opus of power and deception nears its climax. While the gods quake at the consequences of his possible success, the nations of Oerth fight amongst themselves, unaware of what is truly going on in the abode of evil on Oerth. Choose your allies carefully; the fate of Oerth lies in your hands.
Official listing - RPGA database entry - Nyrond website review
Set in the Free City of Greyhawk, Dorakaa, and realms beyond. Fifth and final part of the 'Ascension' series, sequel to "Whispers of the Obsidian Citadel" (CORS8-01), "Dedications" (COR8-06), "Lost Souls Eternal" (COR8-08) and "Chains of Darkness" (COR8-10). This is the conclusion to the final Core plot arc of the Living Greyhawk campaign. This scenario includes untiered encounters..:D

Iuz is fine and dandy, But I am more wanting to see how this tiamat story arc is going. Its been one of the best build up's and now it's no where to be seen. It'd trully be interesting to see the last few dragon plot modules come to fruition. Just what are the scales? What happens to Gildor - What darkness has the machinations of the Old One hatched in the Fortress of Dorakka?

This has been the best build up I have seen with something slowly coming to a head by a great team of author's and by god I want to finish it.

So please someone make it happen, even if you release them as two - two round Iuz modules it's worth the wait we want to see what will happen!

The last two mods from last year will come out. I have 7-06 and have checked with Jeff to see if he has it to polish. I do not have 7-08, but Jeff might have that. The dragon storyline will be completed. I don't know what we'll do with the year 8 mods. The big problem is finding a storyline that works. The dragon storyline should not last through 4 more mods and it's hard to come up with something that is significant but does not become too tangled up in the Core storyline (Iuz is a major part of the core finale plot arc). I have an idea, but I don't know if it will pan out or if I'll have time to write it myself. I will be talking to others about writing some or all of it.

For other rumors I just saw that are going around:
- There are not several mods awaiting approval. There are two mods from last year that keep disappearing or are missed for various reasons. The vast majority of regional adventures and interactives I've been getting for the past few months have been one to two weeks before the intended premiere date. This is not all mods, and it's understandable that the end of the campaign has screwed with the Triads' plans, and I'm trying to cut as much slack as I can. But that should show you how quick the turnaround typically is and why I don't have a lot of time.
- I have nothing to do with LFR or 4e. The only thing I've done so far is glance through the preview books from last year and play the intro mods at DDXP. LFR and 4e have nothing to do with IUZ.
- I am currently: taking finals and writing my last paper so I can graduate from law school in 1.5 weeks, finishing off COR8-08 (2 rounds), starting work on CORS8-02 (2 rounds) and BDK8-03 (2 rounds), approving mods and making ARs on the timeline mentioned above, and doing some programming when I have time. That means I do not have much time for anything else, just so you know.

The end of the campaign has created massive time crunches everywhere, which makes it very hard to get things done, but I'll do what I can and at least get done what I said above.

Britt, of the circle of eight. It saddens me to report that the worshipper Puggle Halfwine has left the fold. He has gone over to the worship of Joe. What shall we do with this apostate, almighty Britt, purveyor of the lands of the Bandit Kingdoms, banisher of the lowly god Iuz from the material plane? It seems that most IUZ metaregion players (at least all from whom I've heard) want the metaregion to go down in a blaze of glory with the untiered combats and the Bonehearts making appearances and the Drinkers forcing the PCs to do something really stupid and Iuz claiming his retribution.

No more of this dragon stuff, really. Hopefully that can be resolved with 7-08 so that the year 8 stuff is just Old School Iuz with the undead and the demons and the city of immeasurable evil run by the wicked Old Man, who now most likely has an additional 300 demonic generals to lead his armies.... And then the PCs (even the 15th-level powerhouses) get to feel like they have their backs to the wall as they attempt missions that put fear in their hearts and grey areas all over their morals as they try to eke out the tiniest bit of "lesser evil" from the whole situation...

So, yeah, anyway, I've got a proposal, but I'll send that directly via email.

It's good to hear that there's a metaregion left to help! Thanks. :)

Hey Britt, thanks for stopping in and explaining the issue to us. I guess graduating law school could possibly be more important than D&D. I mean, maybe.... Anyway, good luck on your papers, and graduate soon so you can get back to your true calling. ;)

Anyway, my DM has been in contact with our triad POC trying to get the remaining metaregional mods, and he was told that not only were we unlikely to get any year 8 metaregionals, but the remaining year 7s wouldn't be released either. Hopefully you can get this straightened out, because it would really stink not to at least finish out the Dragon Scales arc. :weep:

Hi, Britt. Does this mean that IUZ7-05 and IUZ7-07 are supposed to be generally available for play? In Perrenland, we're waiting for IUZ7-05 to IUZ7-08 - that is, for four scenarios, not for two.

Loved it Joe.

Absolute blast.

Kept the regional flavour, kept the Gildor flavour, wasn't too easy (like some Gildor mods) and was desigined to catch PCs off guard in a really good way. (Also required some roleplaying for a change) Moreover there was a REAL plothook for once! We could actually interact with Gildor instead of just being bossed around.

Both IUZ8-01 and 8-02 (2 rounds each) were finished off last week, but I'm having some issues getting them turned into PDFs. They are done, however, and you should be able to get the PDFs within a week. 8-01 wraps up the dragon arc and ties things back into the Iuz plotline. 8-02 is a tie-in to the Core finale arc.
