The AR from I recently played has two things on it that I'm unsure about. One is a special item ('notes') that is only usable if you speak Drow. Since there is no Speak Language(Drow), is this the same thing as Elven? The MM lists Elven, Common, Undercommon as the Drow spoken languages.

The other item is a spellbook that gives access to a restriced spell(Nightshield, from Spell Compendium). It was my understanding that you can't learn restricted spells; am I actually allowed to learn this?

It's a Core mod, so I'm not sure who I would email these questions to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should e-mail Creighton Broadhurst; part of his Circle role is overseeing Core modules. His e-mail addy should be in the LGCS.

I can't speak to the AR in question, but reading the spell description in the Spell Compendium, I'm trying to figure out why it's Restricted... Because it effectively combines a level 0 spell (resistance) and a level 1 spell (shield) into a single level 1 spell? Doesn't seem that overpowering actually, especially since its range is still limited to 'Personal' ...

I've played the game you're referring to. We had the same question.

Our table came to the conclusion that it was, in fact, a mistake and that the author's intent was (probably) to limit the item to those who spoke Undercommon. In fact, my character levelled in that game and specifically took Undercommon with his skill points when he levelled (I havn't played in a game since, so it's safe to undo that choice if it turns out to be erroneous)..

In general it really helps if you mention the title of the adventure, especially if what you are asking can hardly be considered a spoiler. You are referring to ADP1 Fane of the Drow I assume? We are aware of the spell problem. The language one is new...

Is the spell problem likely to get fixed? I copied it into my spellbook, as all good wizards should =)

Yes, it's from Fane of the Drow. The spell issue isn't a big deal to me as I don't have anywhere near enough cash to splurge on a spellbook at this point, but the other thing is totally in character for me.

In the future, who should I email these sorts of issues to? I looked in the LGCS, which doesn't actually have any Circle email addresses. I found Creighton's address from an older version, which unfortunately bounced. Tried one or two others but no response. Is there a 'point man' who responds to these issues?

Actually, they are in the LGCS; you need to look a little further down in the document. I bet you're looking at p.72, which lists the six of them, but no e-mail addys there. On the following pages, it lists which Circle member is in charge of which metaregion...and, in each case, it gives their e-mails. On p. 75, under "Core Campaign Administration", you'll find Creighton's.
