When the arrow is fired, the spell’s area is centered on where the arrow lands, even if the spell could normally be centered only on the caster. This ability allows the archer to use the bow’s range rather than the spell’s range. It takes a standard action to cast the spell and fire the arrow. The arrow must be fired in the round the spell is cast, or the spell is wasted." So you can only imbue spells with an area effect? Bursts, Cones, and spells that Spread? So you can imbue "Burning Hands" because it has an area effect, but you cant imbue a single target ranged touch spell, like a ray, or single target touch spell, like Shocking Grasp? Has anyone compiled a list of spells you can imbue? A couple of other questions; if you imbue an arrow with a spell, when you fire the arrow, does it become a ranged touch attack, or does the arrow have to hit? Is it possible to hit with the spell, but not hit with the arrow? If the arrow hits, I assume it does normal damage (including things like PBS, and Sneak Attack)? If you have Rapid Shot, can you fire an Imbued arrow and a normal arrow as a full round action (taking the -2 to both attack rolls)? What about when you have a BAB greater than 5 (For example, I have a BAB of +6 / +1 and Rapid Shot. Can I fire an Imbued Arrow at +4, a regular arrow at -1, and a regular arrow at +4 as a full round action)? |

Ergo, if you had an Arcane Archer with levels in cleric or druid, area effect spells from those classes, as well as his arcane casting one, should be valid choices. And, of course, your arcane selection could also come from levels of Bard or Hexblade. |
