| haferka04-10-06, 06:32 PM | Are the animals/mounts in the Arms & Equipment Guide treated like equipment... as far as access is concerned? The PH gives players access to mounts/animals... The Arms & Equipment Guide is a valid source for Mod writers to grant item access... The descriptions for many of the creatures details the Training costs & costs for babies... I would love so see more exotic animals granted... Also, could you supply the writers with a guide for LVL equivilants when using these animals as animal companions etc.. (provided we have access at all). |

| Madfox1104-14-06, 04:29 AM | MO rules are not discussed on a public forum. It is best to post the question to your local triad, who can then ask us the question, or who knows, might know the answer. Besides, they are also the ones who have to approve the MO. Even if the rules allow it, they might not want to add it as one of the benefits. Pieter Sleijpen, Circle Representative Splintered Suns Meta-Region |

Pieter Sleijpen, Circle Representative Splintered Suns Meta-Region What is lost by having things done out in the open? This is something (not limited to MO) that I've wondered about LG since I started playing it. There seems to be this pathological belief that having things out in the open would unleash doom and destruction down on the campaign. Yet each and everytime the circle takes the time to explain things to the playerbase, as well as each time they've opened up to the players the response has been favorable and seems, imho, to strengthen the campaign. -James |

Every region that I know of has a single POC that handles MOs, so if you have a question about an MO direct it to them. <semi-rant off> Now the question I had is, why the @$#& would you be treating an animal as a piece of equipment??? |
| haferka04-16-06, 05:00 PM | Now the question I had is, why the @$#& would you be treating an animal as a piece of equipment??? Becouse, as far as "access" is concerned... animals are "items"... they apear in the equipment section of the PH. And you purchase them as such... The only "rule" that seperates them from standard equipment is that if you buy a bunch of them and use them in the mod for combat... they raise the APL of the party... so in this respect... they are much more than "equipment"... they function like cohorts or followers... Personally, I have already talked to my Region POC for Metaorgs... and I got a decent answer... BUT..... If I had a question... I assume that others will have a similar question.. so I post it here in hopes that it will be answered by a circle member.. or that the other regional Triads will notice the question and think about the subject... I would like to see more "animals" granted as access instead of just arms & armor... some of these animals could be really cool, and they give a nice flavor to the characters that have them... PS. You will likely see more questions posted by me. |
| TimRat04-18-06, 04:51 PM | bah i'll answer it. special/exotic animals are not considered 'items' reason being is that they are special and thus must be granted access via an AR. (that means a special mission too i suppose). they can't be on a meta-org. though an argument could be made up for one i guess since you may have griffon riders as part of an army and PCs could join up and get a griffon but we tend to keep these things out of the orgs as 'cherry picking' happened in the last system. honestly what you could do is in regional adventures have a mod pertaining to that area of an org and put in that if you belong to that org you get access to said animal and boom there ya go. |
