If it ends right after the monsters are dead than no one would get a chance to heal me if I had like negative two hit points. In that case I would die as soon as the monsters were dead because of the loss of temporary hit points. |

Rage does not end because the last visible monster drops. (That would be really bad if you're fighting invisible opponents.) "A fit of rage lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the character’s (newly improved) Constitution modifier. A barbarian may prematurely end his rage. Actually, re-reading Calm Emotions, it looks like it just suppresses rage for the duration ("Concentration, up to 1 round/level (D)"). So if the caster stops concentrating, your rage returns. And there's a subtle but important distinction between temporary hit points and the extra hit points granted by an increase in Con. Temporary hit points can't be cured, and they go away before your regular hit points. A raging barbarian's extra hit points can be cured (during the rage) and they're treated just like regualr hit points. -- Ken Jenks |

Or my favorite: grab the nearest cleric and roar: "Heal Thog! NOW!" :) |
