Whats the best thing about your region, the thing you have the most fun with?

Ratik:

It was new, funky, and we got to take part in developing a new region with a strong existing player base.

It was also a lot less gloomy than perrenland, and offered a different style of games.

Perrenland:

Tough, hard as nails mods that were really well written. Occasionally was a bit gloomy/repetitive, but was still a really well thought out region with excellent mods.

Perrenland also had such a massive and strong player base that it was probably one of the more active and developed regions around.

(Though I will say, got definitely sick of undead!)

Dyvers:

Living in the City of Sails has been awesome. I like that gold can get you out of most situations, that everyone is afraid of the sewers, and that epic battles are being fought all over the place (think Return of the King-style battles). Death to Turrosh Mak!

Out of character, Dyvers is a really diverse region and I've met many a great player in my travels to other parts of the "country" and our Triad is second-to-none, always approachable and willing to listen (props to Michael Mockus for bringing back the Dyvers Shield!). I look forward to what they have in store for 2008.

I like that in Bandit Kingdoms you should be more afraid of the "good guys" than the "bad guys". I'm not too fond of the near inability to play a paladin, though.

KEOLAND! REJOIN THE EMPIRE!

There are no undead in Keoland, only "orc raiders".

The Silent Ones keep magic safely out of common hands.

Our king died, but we brought him back.

WE helped kick the giants butts in Geoff.

WE have the largest standing army in all of Oerth.

Yeah, Keoland rules...hope we get a similarly awesome region for Living Realms...but it's hard to live up to what is essentially Chuck Norris in the form of a nation...

I love living in the Shield Lands, but it's mostly because I love watching my characters live there. Here's why:

In the recent past, our country was completely annihilated by our next-door neighbor, the Empire of Iuz. We're taking our land back, but everyone seems to have forgotten that this is only working because Iuz has better things to do right now than pay attention to the Shield Lands.

We're starting a war, right now, to conquer the land that we need to have in order to pay our army. Nobody seems to realize that they will have no real reason to re-enlist once the land has been taken. Moreover, nobody seems to realize that making a big push into Iuzian territory just might draw Iuz's attention back to Oearth.

Our lands are under constant attack from the Emprie. Even our farmers go to the fields packing swords.

Half our ruling body was at one time replaced by doppelgangers. Now it's beginning to look a little more like half our resident population has been replaced by doppelgangers. We seriously have a regional meta-org devoted to finding doppelgangers: the Church of Inquisition.

In the recent past, we suffered a massive biological attack; only by releasing immensely evil items back into the world and destroying an entire culture were we able to stop it.

In the Shield Lands, the law is absolute. Unless you did something that someone with influence likes. In that case, the law is toilet paper.

I joke around that any PC with an Int of 14 or higher needs to make a yearly Will save to not realize how incredibly bad it could be to be living in the Shield Lands in the very near future, and mvoe away accordingly.

Still, there's lots of fun to be had riding around for the time being, until Iuz comes back and squishes us all flat.

Too true, but Chuck would of kicked SERIOUS butt if they canced Walker, Texas Ranger like that

Furyondy:

The best thing about Furyondy is the players. It's a great community out there. It's by far, the biggest disappointment I've had about moving away.

Furyondy...ah...now, we don't have -insane- ARs or anything like that, but we did get access to a lot of MIC stuff pretty quick (and in no shortage of it, either.) We have a group of terrific and renowned authors who know how to award their players, and I think even if I did move away, I'd still force myself to play a Furyondy mod once a year. Lots of Undead, but a lot of potential for flavor. Although...I do wish the king would have kicked the bucket a lot earlier...I don't KNOW that he'll die, but...let's just say it's a hunch of mine.

The Pholtans.

Seriously.

They're good to work for - they don't tend to lie about what they want you to do, they keep their word on payment, they don't betray you, their courts are honest and they make perfect straight men for jokes :)

They also are hated by enough people that it isn't difficult to find plausible enemies for the Pale that have some diversity. (around here we didn't spend four years fighting nothing but undead or humanoids or giants like some regions...)

My favorite things about Keoland? The sense of accomplishment you get when you live through a Keoland mod and achieve victory. (It's a sign that you're doing something right.)

The great stories involved. I've heard great things about the "Tale of Two Lions" storyline.

Plus, the players are great too.

I love Ket's unique flavour regarding monsters, er, elves. Where else on Oerth can you shrug your shoulders at someone attacking an elf, but raise the hue and cry when a horse is hurt?

Also, you have to love that most effective Ketite weapon: the +1 Merciful sap. :D

Bissel...

5. Many of our triad and author volunteers

4. The regional flavor

3. The fact that only about 10% of tables achieve victory in our battle interactives

2. Our year 5 storyline (the conclusion of the Evard plot arc)

1. Curses! Lots of curses!
