I am planning on making a barbarian from the bright sands with this feat and was looking for some suggestions on builds for him.

If you are from the bright sands (first module is "Blood on Bright Sands") everything not restricted in the Sandstorm book is core for you. (your campaign documentation is the Blood on Bright Sands Sourcebook thingamajig)

You build a blazing rage barb pretty much like any other. Get high str and constitution, take Power attack at level 1, extra rage at 3, everything else is a matter of choice....it's pretty hard to go wrong with that basic approach. If you're not human, then take blazing rage at 1, extra rage at 3 and power attack when you can fit it in (many barbarian builds get a couple levels of fighter to fix up their feat situation)

Just watch out for the cold monsters when raging. They can hurt you bad.

Hi

Limited? How? The Blight on Bright Sands Sourcebook, clearly states on Pg 4 that Blazing Berserker is OK for new Bright Sands characters.

As are:
Drift Magic
Eagle's Fury
Heat Endurance
Improved Heat Endurance
Judged by Aurifar (This is regional name for Pelor)
Light of Aurifar (This is regional name for Pelor)
Pharoah's Fist
Priest of the Waste
Rattlesnake Strike
Sand Camouflage
Sand Dancer
Sand Snare
Sand Spinner
Sandskimmer
Scorpion's Grasp
Scorpion's Instinct
Scorpion's Resolve
Scorpion's Sense
Serpent Fang
Searing Spell
Fiery Spell

Also, Blooded, Desert Fighter & vathrin Stigmata are allowed.
You can also choose from tables 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 Weapons, Armour & Gear too.

Note: These acceptable from new chars with Bright Lands as Home Region ONLY

Since you seem to be looking for a barbarian, try Scab-Land Half-Orc.
Same as normal, exept only low-light vision, Heat Endurance, (free racial feat), etc.
Take Blazing Beserker, or Exotic Wpn Gt Falchion. 100gp. D12 dam. Threat 18-20*2. Slashing. Weight 12lb.

Cheers

Would heat endurance be overkill for a blazing berserker, since you're immune to fire while raging, anyway?

Heat Endurance protects you from the sun the rest of the day.

I've thought about this feat coupled with necklace of missiles and other fire spells, but 1)too many things are immune to fire damage 2) my barbarian wizard can't risk the vulnerability to cold and 3) if you build a PC around this calm emotions could cripple you.

There is a guy in the group of players who plays a half-orc barbarian with this feat.

All I can say is he kick arse. He just charges in, and target for fireball spells. Then he just cleaves his way through the enemy. Works well.

As for cold problems, you just don't rage :)

Hi

Whilst Improved Heat Endurance, (prereqs base fort +6, Heat Endurance), grants Fire Resistance 5, you only get immunity to fire whilst raging.

Still like the Gt Falchion, though! :D

PS there's a seperate source doc for Bright Sands provide with Blight on Bright Sands mod. Can email it to anyone who's interested. (Just the source doc).

I was thinking of using it in conjunction with the feat that lets you rage as a swift action.
