| Piuro10-29-06, 04:04 AM | Is there going to be any way for bright sands characters to join any meta-orgs? Very few accept players from out of region, and it kind of kills some of the flexibility of your chartacter. What about a secondary home? Like, pick a region, and you can count as a quasi-citizen of that regoin, gaining access to local meta-orgs while still maintaining the Bright Lands as your home character... |
| Cynric10-29-06, 04:11 AM | In perrenland there are many meta-orgs you can join even though you are from out of region. My Bright sands has join the Pax Mercuri (your war is our business). And it really sucks up the TU's. I think that is the problem with her actually. She is more of a role-playing Interactive type character and being bright Sands, really goes through the TU's. |
| Piuro10-29-06, 04:34 AM | I know that there are quite a few meta-orgs that can be joined with out of region characters, but there are too many that cant. There are many orgs, such as almost any religious org, that have no place having region reqirements in the fist place. Whatever happened to the good old wandering monk/cleric/general pious person wandering the lands to gather information and spread the word of their faith? |

| Piuro10-29-06, 05:50 PM | Pfffh, not like I would worship Pholtus... |
| clannagh10-29-06, 05:52 PM | My bright sands badlands dwarf had access to contemplative of Joramy :) Problem is he didnt really seem an appropriate god for a dwarf. |
| Arvagor10-29-06, 06:11 PM | Pfffh, not like I would worship Pholtus...I wasn't specifically referring to Pholtus... (Conversion need not always be of the "Convert or die, heretic!" variety that the Pholtans seem to espouse.) |
| _m_10-29-06, 06:43 PM | (Conversion need not always be of the "Convert or die, heretic!" variety that the Pholtans seem to espouse.) isnt that what conversion means? :D |

| retro10-30-06, 06:46 PM | Bear in mind that the Bright Sands arc is almost over- once your character has played COR 6-16 Dominion Over Bright Sands, future opportunities to play scenarios set in the Bright Desert will probably be very limited. So why not change the character's region, if you want him to join meta-orgs? |

So why not change the character's region, if you want him to join meta-orgs? :) the meta orgs my bright sands character wants to join are without residency requirement. just imagine a character that uses a bright desert specific item, and e.g. gets his set of great falchions sundered, when he has switched region, he suddenly can't get replacements :( ciao martin m. |
| Arvagor10-30-06, 06:53 PM | ... never been quoted...?Quoted in a sig ... :ahem: ;) |
| DerekSTheRed10-30-06, 07:05 PM | There are many factions in Hardby that could be turned into a meta-org like the Order of the Throne of Wood or the Merchant's Guild. There have been precedents set this year for Core Meta-Orgs that you could join in a Year 6 Core mod, so why not have some Bright Sands themed ones? I've always like that the Bright Sands was a region anyone could join. This is especially nice for those living in countries without regional representation. Adding Meta-Orgs for the Bright Sands would be another way to give the full Living Greyhawk experience to those without a region. As retro stated though, the story arc is almost over so Bright Sands players will be lucky to get one two regional mods year. At this point Bright Sands Meta-Orgs seems unecessary. Derek |
| _m_10-30-06, 07:33 PM | Quoted in a sig ... :ahem: ;) ohhh. thats ok tehn (yeah, i was tempted to put you in my sig with that line actually). meanwhile, as far as reagions / access... my dervish correllan champion swashbuckler will be using a pair of light or thin blades (can never remember which is which) with oversized fighting, if i recall (bin a while since i looked at him). i doubt il get much access, so im saving money for when i do, so i can by like 8 of them, just in case. |

Exactally. Down to the letter. I dont want to lose my great falchions. |

Sundered items can be a great inconvenience, but it's not insurmountable. |

| Piuro11-01-06, 07:07 PM | Yeah, if you gear-death players, they tend to give you the finger and leave. |
| _m_11-01-06, 07:30 PM | Yeah, if you gear-death players, they tend to give you the finger and leave. of course... as a wiz... what are they gonna sunder, my cloth rob..... NO, not my ROBES!!! but yeah, id players sunder, they loose access. if dms sunder, they loose limbs. *giggle* |
| Iswald11-01-06, 11:31 PM | i must admit ive never actually seen anything other than doors get sundered in lgh... ever. Off the top of my head, I only recall two items being sundered. The first was a wand of CLW at a low APL table. The other was a +3 weapon of some type (+1 with an enhancement or two), I think, which was sundered by the BBEG at the APLs 10 & 12 table before he went over to attack the APL 14 group. I don't think any of the 18-24 players was unhappy to see the BBEG move off the mat. Of course there are other ways to lose weapons too. Acid damage from hitting creatures or breakage from hitting a particular kind of construct come to mind. |
| _m_11-01-06, 11:38 PM | or a nightwalkers standard combat tactics. admitedly, i cant off the top of my head think of alot of parties who would be up to tackling a nightwalker, especially not in ratik, which seems to be full of lowbies :D |
| JJeff11-02-06, 03:01 AM | I believe there are some mods that the writer gave the feat to the enemies and the instruction to sunder under tactics. but from what I know that's VERY rare. |

| Maesto11-02-06, 07:15 AM | Let's go for the steel predators, whose job in life is to sunder metal weapons. With 2x damage on a sunder, and already 2x damage from powerattack, on top of a +8 bonus on attack rolls made to sunder, I think I calculated that any non-adamantine +1 weapon was dead on a power attack for 4, still with +22 on the attack roll. On my table, the wizards killed the bastards. (oh yeah, they have DR 15/silver + magical, and can sense any magical metal within 100 feet). On the table I ran, it was taken out by a fighter saying "I quickdraw my silver +1 longsword. I swipe once. I five foot step back. I use my remaining move action to sheath my longsword into my quiver of ehlonna". It was icky. |
| UMiskatonic11-02-06, 01:23 PM | There was an entire year in Highfolk, yr 3, I think, where the forces of Iuz had instructions to first sunder the bows of the archers. In a foresty region filled with elves and rangers, it was VERY effective. I even saw a archer with improved sunder, because it gave +4 to being sundered. It was better in 3.0, when Improved Sunder gave double damage. |
| _m_11-02-06, 05:10 PM | im cofused... whats a... longsword? no proficiencies ftw :D |
