| Nerax04-03-08, 09:22 PM | So, I am sure most everyone has heard by now that this has been adapted (or at least I am hoping this wasn't a April Fools joke). For those of you that have not heard go here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgcn/20080401a). Any who, this ADP is described as being 13 adventures for APLs 2-16. Are the adventures going to have APL ranges(2-8 ect...) or a set APL (2)? Are these adventures ment to be played in order and before "Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk?" I am hoping that this is to help level our Greyhawk PC's to appropriate levels to play Expedition. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :D |

| Howie2304-04-08, 12:16 AM | It was definitely an April Fool's joke. What? I'm shocked. Shocked, I say. When I saw the announcement, I ran it for some of my friends and have promised them ARs. David -why yes, that is my tongue in cheek, why do you ask? |
| kenobi6504-04-08, 12:42 AM | Nerax, Assuming that you were serious... Castle Greyhawk is an infamously bad module (I know, I actually used to own a copy), and a lot of old-time D&D players consider it to be among the low points (if not the low point) of 2E. It was written as a spoof in the first place, with a large number of bad jokes and anachronisms strewn throughout. I'd also think that the last line in that press release would be a clue: Thirteen adventures for APLs 2-16 (characters levels 0 to 15). |

David -why yes, that is my tongue in cheek, why do you ask? After already booking the 13 weekends, and who buys pizza each day? To think you even did wizards a massive favour by purchasing the greyhawk gazetteer... Well now they have lost all that income from you. take that RPGA and gamer community. That tongue is stuck in the cheek... |

Would have really loved to take any of my current characters through it. |

I've seen worse, even in Living Greyhawk, but it remains a strong contender for the title of the worst adventure module of all time. I mean, if you're trying to make a mockery of the dungeon that started it all, at least you could try to be funny. As it is, the whole thing just deflates like a punctured fart bag. It is a genuinely unpleasant piece of work. Creighton's joke I thought was quite funny. |
| Greyson04-05-08, 09:50 PM | Creighton's joke I thought was quite funny. It's even funnier that somebody fell for that. I had two people e-mail me asking about it to my Triad list. LMAO, good spoof. |

| Greyson04-07-08, 07:37 PM | Unfortunetly, Sense Motive is not my best skill....and I have many ranks in Gulible. LOL, no problem, Nerax. I think all of us old grognards immediately recognized the farce based on that adventure's history and initial reception so long ago. I had two judges in Utah organize private tables on our online event scheduler - that's what I thought was hilarious. Wizards of the Coast cannot be trusted on April Fools Day! |
| Penn04-11-08, 02:46 PM | The message made me ponder the possibility of running the module under 4e. Castle Greyhawk is a bizarre adventure, packed full of obvious and obscure jokes, and (it being written by a different writer for each level) of varying quality and tone. On the other hand, who doesn't love hasted flail snails? --Penn |
| Maldin04-16-08, 03:59 PM | And who can forget the gummy werebears? Poppinfarsh the dough golem? Or the undead swarm of headless mice, running out of the kitchen, down the hall, and throwing themselves into the trash. Classic. Denis, aka "Maldin" Maldin's Greyhawk http://melkot.com |
