Are all of the Greyhawk Ruins parts out already? I am seeing people starting to schedule these games on the "Online" yahoo groups and thought it was kind of early for them to be out....

Thanks! :D

CGR7-02 has four sections. That is the 1-4 you are seeing referenced. Section may not be the correct term, but captures the idea. CGR7-01 only had sections 1 and 2.

Edit: Correction, there was some early language about CGR7-01 and 7-02, but instead, the mod is available as CGR7-01 Parts 1 and 2 (one item) and CGR7-01 Parts 3 and 4 (2nd item).

So if I am understanding this right between CGR7-01 and 7-02 there are 6 "sections" or just 4?

Four.

CGR7-01 had parts 1 and 2.

CGR7-02 has parts 1 and 2 (same as 7-01, but repackaged), as well as 3 and 4.

Edit: I have the above wrong; CRG7-01 is published in two items: the first is parts 1/2, the second is parts 3/4. CRG7-02 is not part of the Gencon group.

This is what was announced, with the oddly named CGR7-02 actually being the second 'half' of what was originally going to be CGR7-01.

However, CGR7-02 does not exist in the RPGA scenario database at the moment.

Instead, there are two scenarios:

CGR7-01 Ruins of Discovery Parts 1 and 2 (https://events.wizards.com/RPGAWeb/external/econplay.asp?ScenarioCd=RUIN12LG)

and CGR7-01 Ruins of Discovery Parts 3 and 4 (https://events.wizards.com/RPGAWeb/external/econplay.asp?ScenarioCd=RUIN34LG)

This is all becoming quite confusing. I believe that they are functionally separate - the comment in the Dispel Confusion about whether you can play parts 3 and 4 if you've judged parts 1 and 2 seemed to be overruled by a post from Tim Sech - but perhaps you can play them all together as one long session allowing you to move from part to part without 'finalising' each part by filling in the AR, or you can play them as two 'lots' of two parts, or play each 'part' separately, although you seem to have to play part 2 with the same group of players and PCs with whom you played part 1, and part 4 with the same group of players and PCs with whom you played part 3 - otherwise you won't be able to report who played the different parts.

It would probably be most sensible for each part to be a separate scenario in the database, as with RHoD, though that might throw up other problems.

I am running this game next weekend for some friends.
RUIN12LG and RUIN34LG are both CRG7-01
If you order either module they both have all for parts in it, the difference is what AR sheets are included.
RUIN12LG has AR sheets for parts 1 and 2
RUIN34LG has AR aheets for parts 3 and 4

Hope this helps.

What APLs do parts 3 & 4 support? (NOTE: the scenario blurb on the order page is an exact copy of the one for parts 1 & 2, so it's no help.)

What character can you play in parts 3 & 4? Does it HAVE to be the same one who played in parts 1 and/or 2? What if that character died and is no longer playable? What if you played that character a lot since then and got to a much higher character level than the others who want to play and you'd have to "play down" by more than 3 levels which isn't allowed by the LGCS?

In other words, is there a rule that you MUST use your CGR 1/2 character and if you don't or can't, you can't ever play parts 3 & 4?

Thanks,
Marcia

What APLs do parts 3 & 4 support?

Parts 1-4 all belong to "Adventure 1" so APL2 only.

What character can you play in parts 3 & 4? Does it HAVE to be the same one who played in parts 1 and/or 2?

You can only start 1 GHR PC per "Adventure" (not Part), so it must be the same PC since there's only one Adventure at the moment. This might change once Adventure 2 is out if you create a new PC.

* The following answers are more speculative and should be confirmed by the Circle before being relied upon:

What if that character died and is no longer playable?

There was a statement at one point that you could staple in the dead PC's GHR AR into the replacement PC's AR stack - giving zero GP / XP / access, but tracking that this is your one GHR PC.

What if you played that character a lot since then and got to a much higher character level than the others who want to play and you'd have to "play down" by more than 3 levels which isn't allowed by the LGCS?

I suspect you'd be out of luck.

In other words, is there a rule that you MUST use your CGR 1/2 character and if you don't or can't, you can't ever play parts 3 & 4?

I believe there are 2 other options. If your first GHR PC dies, you may start a replacement. If you create a 2nd GHR PC in the second Adventure, you probably can go back and play Parts 3 & 4 of Adventure 1 (after you've played an Adventure 2 GHR module).
