changing an ordered event [Archive] - Wizards Community

I recently ordered an event and put the wrong date in (silly form using American format dates :)). As a result, the event isn't due until November, a little late for my needs.

Does anyone know how I can change the date, or cancel the event to allow space to reorder?

I've tried emailing the rpgahq@wizards.com address listed on the email I received, but it bounces with a "No such user" error.

Thanks,
AW.

Confusion in date formats makes me prefer the computer-friendly, international standard of yyyy-mm-dd. That way *everyone* has to do something different, and there are no mistaken assumptions.

P.S. one may ask "how is it computer friendly"? The answer is "string sorts automatically work". Anyone who has had to write code to get April 19th and November 3rd to sort right knows what I'm talking about. :D

Deactivate the session under the session report (where you put the rpga numbers of the players and the judge in). Then, order the session on the correct date :)

I don't think I can do that until after start date of the event has passed, which is about four months. I can't even see the module for another three months :)

yea, it's stuck there without human intervention because of how it works. You can probably order another session with the right date, depending how many you have and what kind they are (there's a limit)

I'm really surprised rpgahq didn't work. That's how you are supposed to request changes.

I would suggest calling customer service at the number on all the D&D mini boxes... 800-324-6496 ...to tell them about the deletion you need (probably be forwarded to rpga) and that the RPGAHQ email address bounced back.

Hi awroe

rpgahq@wizards.com doesn't work anymore. References to it really should be removed from the process!

rpgasanctioning@wizards.com does get through - and is the address for Senior GMs' to report such things; however replies are infrequent and I'm not sure if things get acted on terribly quickly when they're sent there.

I've had most success contacting the RPGA via Wizards' customer services (http://wizards.custhelp.com)

Especially as it is both the from address for the emails sent about the event and mentioned in the text as the place to contact for more membership cards...

The box for entering the date of your convention/gameday/homegame allows text - something I take full advantage of (so, for example, I'll enter "July 1, 2007" in the start date box). Apparently, the RPGA ordering system is smart enough to be able to process that. :)

Really? Wow, I never knew that.

Next time I order something I'll see if it likes 1 July 2007 as well (after all, the RPGA is run by a Brit, it ought to understand our dialect :D )
