| Torpedo06-03-05, 10:30 PM | I've tried to find the answer on the RPGA and Living Greyhawk websites but have not had any luck. A friend and I are signed up for the "Secrets of Tsojcanth" adventure at Gen-Con Indy this year. All I've found out about it is this: Evil once again lurks within the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth. This adventure is playable by any Living Greyhawk character and is split into three sections: low level, middle level, and high level. This session runs in the main event area. Neither my friend nor I have a Living Greyhawk character, but are eager to make ones for this adventure. I've found the downloadable character sheet, and Campaign Sourcebook (I also own the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer). My main question is what level should we make our characters? |

| Torpedo06-07-05, 06:05 PM | Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to the adventure. By new classes are you referring to the Complete Warrior, Adventurer, Arcane, and Divine? What about Expanded Psionics Hanbook classes and races? |

What about Expanded Psionics Hanbook classes and races? As already stated, LGCS 4.2 gives you all the information you need on character creation. |

| Cardinal Teplin06-08-05, 12:27 PM | Basically.. Stats as 28 pt buy, max starting gold, max hp at first level. No feats, spells, skills or items outside the PHB are allowed for starting characters, and that includes no magic items. The only exception is a few of the feats from recent Dragon magazines are allowed. No evil alignments, worshippers of evil deities, or worshippers of Wastri. Classes allowed include PHB classes plus warmage, marshall, scout, and favoured soul. Races allowed are all PHB races, plus Wood elf and Grey elf, from the DMG. Gameplay tends to be combat heavy, sticks very closely to the rules as written, and is limited by the clock. Make sure your characters are reasonably hardy since generally speaking, LG DMs have no compunction against killing characters, and the rest of the table may be unable, or too incompetant, to properly protect you. If you choose to play a half-orc, bear in mind that there may be considerable prejudice against your character from NPCs when you play LG in England. If you play a human, you need to choose a race. Most common are Suel (blond, blue-eyed), Oeridian (darker haired), Flan (olive skinned barbarians), Rhenee (Water Gypsies) or Baklunish (arabian). Suel also experience some prejudice, since the country that forms the setting for the game in England has been at war with a group of Suel racial supremacists for a considerable time. The LGCS does indeed tell you everything you need to know. It can be downloaded free. It's also quite a large document, and you don't need to read it before your first game. If you're going to GenCon, someone usually brings some starting characters for people to play who havn't played LG before. There will also be several people there who are good at creating effective characters, and if you can corner them early, they'll probably be only too happy to help you out. |

The specials have a reputation for being tough even at low levels. Getting the chance to play one module and pick up a potion of cure light wounds afterwards might be a good idea :) Mike |

Though, as the original poster is from Missouri, unless he's planning on some signifcant travel to play, it may not come up for him so much. ;) |
