Got my email back from WotC "Customer Screwage Department" today, after 10 emails sent to them on the matter.

As it turns out, the database has conveniently "forgotten" that I enrolled in D&D Rewards back in September. And the only way they'll fix it, is if I can dig up (and didn't happen to delete) the original "click this link to confirm you're entering the program" email from them.

8 months of D&D play, down the toilet. No, I don't even get a happy little "here's the rewards program but you don't get any rewards" letter. I get NOTHING. ZIP. NADA.

This kind of ******** is why I quit playing Magic and why I refuse to purchase anything more than the bare minimum books necessary to play my characters. No, I'm not going to shell out $30 just so I can use 2 ******* spells from the Miniatures Handbook, I'll do just fine without it (and them). Likewise with the "extra feats" out of the Races books, it's not worth it when Wizards treats their customers this way.

Gee sign me up to play at your table. I am sure fun times never end with Mr. Potty Mouth in residence. LOL

No offense, but didn't you get 8 months of fun playing D&D?

If a clerical error meant you lost points, yes, it is a bummer, but isn't that program pretty much secondary to gettig to play?

Over 100 Player Reward Points, as well as 30+ GM points.

I think I have a right to be angry, especially when the Customer Screwage Department's response is a nicely phrased "too F***ing bad, we don't care."

I would have to say that Mr. Wavester is too high up the food chain to worry about his reward cards. On the other hand, I was supposed to get 12 but only got 3. I don't care much because I don't play that often anymore and LG in Albuquerque is one step above being totally worthless.

To paraphrase a line from Oh Brother! Where Art Thou?, this place is at least 10 hours away from every good game.

And I don't have enough time to carve out of my life to do something about it

whether you were screwed or not it does not justify coming on here and ranting and raving and blanking out cuss words. Neither does my current stack of cards regardless of what their size is. The tone of your post was crappy and hence my original post.

You said you signed up, they said they show no record of it, you said but I did, they said well show us the confirmation email and we will fix it. What is wrong with that ? That is how any company works. If I want to take something back to the store they are going to want a receipt. If I tell Gencon I really bought a ticket they are going to want the confirmation. That is how it works and hence why you get a confirmation to start with.

Now if you really did sign-up way back then and it did not stick and you did not keep your confirmation then I do feel bad for ya. Point is though I don't know that you did anymore then Wotc or the pope knows ya did.

Oh, the Pope knows...He acts like he doesn't, but he does...you just gotta watch closely... :D

Exactly the same thing happened to me and a lot of other Onnwal players. To say I wasn't amused would be an understatement.

The Points loss was one thing the polite yet totally uninterested response from Wizards irritated me a great deal.

I think I lost around 40 something points, now I would be willing to chalk it up to poor luck on my part but they lost the details for a for a friend completing his heralds exam. He had the confirmation email and that was sufficent to verify it. The fact that the confirmation email goes out but it doesn't save otherwise is pretty poor.

I think it would be appreciated and save a great deal of ill feeling and frustration if wizards were kind enough to look into better data mangement procedures and backing up information.

I have heard that the RPGA database is written in Access which would explain a lot. :D

When the European and US databases were merged most of the player and DM histories of the European players lost years worth of records :( , now we may have said that we were unhappy with the situation and some of us have indeed complained, but not one of us as far as I am aware went as far as you have with your deleted expletives.

Also I would say posting your comments to a single thread on this board is sufficient. Cross-posting the same thread start to multiple sections of the same discussion boards is just spam and is not going to help your position.

What, you expleted without deletion?

Lazy, lazy, lazy. ;)

On another low note, when the system converted from the old levels to the new Player Rewards Program, several tournaments I had played in vanished from the database, or else RPGA said they had never occured. I hate to say it, but I know at least one Co6 member who was at Conflagration in Madison, Wisconsin a few years back, (which was a 4-day con that "didn't exist in our database") so either we were sharing the same hallucination or it is The Man trying to keep us powerful players from toppling a mod.

Since I don't play like I used to, it hurts even worse when I'm screwed out of 9 cards, but I've come to expect that from any program that relies on humans to maintain its accuracy.

I'm not going to curse or krap myself because of it. I just wish they would tighten up the program so that when I do earn another 20 points I won't get to grab my ankles instead of getting the cards I earned.

*sigh*

8 months? Pfah.

I've been an RPGA member over 11 YEARS now.

Just imagine how many time I'VE been screwed over by HQ mistakes.

I must make a partial retraction of my previous post, because I just got a huge ass envelope of Rewards Cards and a letter explaining what happened. So now I have almost 3 full sets of the latest Mark of Heroes set, because my wife and kids earned some an I got 2 periods worth of cards all at once.

Wow, this one almost seemed to have been written by me. I've ranted and raved, politely emailed and called everyone under the sun short of Mr. WotC himself. It irks me greatly, it was a nice little perk to learn that while doing something I enjoy (rolling dice without losing money!!) I get this nifty little extra coming in my mail. 60+ points down the tubes.
I'm holding my breath to see what happens in the next 3 months.
