I have just downloaded COR05-11 - Dark Deceipt on Bright Sands prior to running it. Hooray! However there are a couple of problems with the module and it woudl be nice to know if/how/when they will be fixed.

Note - this is spoiler free so don't worry if you have not played it.

DM Map 1 is cut off at the bottom - I don't think this actually affects anything in play, but it is not helpful.
(Oh yes - the maps are very light in colouration when printed - making the squares hard to see - I recommend making personal copies to use on the day.)

Page 11 says a door leads to Encounter 8 - which is quite impressive given that there is no Encounter 8. (My guess is that the module got trimmed for publication but someone failed to proof-read).

Now the serious problem - APL8 only (hint - don't play at APL8 to avoid this mess) There is a trap with a recoverable component. The trap description and the Adventure Record describe the item one way, the trap statistics and the treasure summary describe it another. Which version of the item is correct?

Overall I am impressed with the depth the module goes into (at one point there is a whole list of knowledge skills DCs and knowledge gained covering a lot of different knowledges) but the map problems are a nuisance - if I was slot 0ing this and had to draw battlemats from the printed maps it would be very slow and difficult, and the item problem at APL8 could be quite serious for some players.

Does the LG campaign ever produce adventure erratas, and if so how do they get applied?

There has been eratta issued in the past, but they tend to be pretty rare and only for the most egregious of mistakes. Most of the less impactful errors they assume the judge to be able to handle in-game. I wouldn't expect an eratta to be issued for something like this, but you might be able to get some clarification by asking your Triad or local Circle rep about it.

Otherwise, if there is a discrepency in the mod, personally, I prefer to err on the side of the PCs.

Yeah I just finished a mod with the same problem. It had a removable wand of lightning bolts (which the party wizard then used to breeze us through the mod) .

Thing was that although the adventure said it only had 5 charges (and we used all 5) the AR said it was a full charged wand. In our case it made the difference in weither or not we got access to the wand, because we technally used up the 5 shot version, but the GM gave us access anyway on the count that the AR version had full charge.

There is errata for this mod - some of the bad guy stats are VERY wrong. Unless you have an updated version that might have this corrected that is.
The errata file is five pages, and it's all text.

And where can you get this errata? (as I am going to DM it soon, I am obviously interested)

I've heard that version 2.0 should be available from RPGA by now. That has at least corrected the monsters but I don't know about other things as I have not read it through yet.

The version on the download is version 2.0 with the correct monster stats.

uncawes was kind enough to send me version 1.0 for the maps, unfortunately they looked identical on my PC. To make the square grid clearer I took screen prints of the map pages into Microsoft Photo Editor and trimmed down to the map then enhanced the contrast by about 20% (which wasn't really quite enough). I recommend playing a little until you get maps that can be easily read for transfer to the battlemat (if you use one).

Both versions have the same item discrepancy at APL8 so I recoomend not playing at that level...
