| Steve_MND04-08-04, 08:35 PM | Unfortunately, that is correct. According to the LGCS, the only use of the Craft skill in LG is for 'playing a trade' and making some spare change (which is virtually never worth it, considering how much time it takes and how little you get in return). Many of us have been petitioning the Circle for more than a year to allow the use of the Craft skill to actually create things again (it is one of the last remnants of the RUP-2 fiasco of Year Two). It wouldn't take much at all -- maybe adding only one or two paragraphs to the LGCS -- and it would allow for a much greater range of RP for player characters. Also, the sole use of Craft in the campaign being to make cash also has another unfortunate side-effect: there is no way in LG to repair a damaged item or weapon unless you have access to the proper magics, since mundane repairing is done by the Craft skill. :( Ah well; maybe we can convince them to entertain the idea by the Summer Update to the LGCS... |
