In general, the easiest way to do it would be to keep everything the same and just make them size small...They'd get bonuses to AC and to hit, and smaller damage dice...If you wanted to adjust stats, -2 STR and +2 Dex makes sense... |

(as in making a human but a small size) |
| kenobi6505-09-05, 05:37 PM | i mean just the same race, humans.. but small sized... Well, by the rules, being Medium-sized is part of the racial characteristics of Human. I think I understand what you're saying...that it'd be just a small member of the race (as in, people in real-life who suffer from dwarfism)...but, at least in Living Greyhawk, there's no way to do that. In LG, you play a Human, you're Medium-sized, end of story. Also, fundamentally, what you're asking for is a benefit (Small size, which is pretty advantageous for a lot of character concepts) while keeping the benefits (extra feat and skill points) of a Human. Even if we're talking about a home game (since you can't do this at all in Living Greyhawk), as a DM, I wouldn't let you play a Small Human without some other disadvantages to balance the advantage of Small. |

The system actually considers being small a disadvantage due to the lowered movement rate and smaller damage dice...It's being larger that is the advantage... You trade carrying capacity, damage, and movement for 1 point of ac and 1 point to hit...Those equal out in the system's eyes (note, CR doesn't change for going down in size, but it does going up)... |

(by spells or something like that) and have that change forever? |
| kenobi6505-10-05, 11:31 AM | and is there a way to shorten characters after they're being created?? (by spells or something like that) and have that change forever? Probably not; even so-called "permanent" spell effects in Living Greyhawk usually last no longer than the end of the module you're playing. (I say "probably not" because it's conceivable that, somewhere, in some LG module, there might be some sort of effect like what you're talking about...but I've never heard of it.) |
| Grethor05-10-05, 12:10 PM | too bad permanency isnt allowed in LG... :weep: (or lasts only for the module) ty anyway |

I have! There is indeed a module with a permanent reduce person curse. (Or is it retired?) Isn't LG wonderful? :P |
