| GANADAI12-16-07, 08:44 AM | The spell states: "All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage from the flames." DM ruled: "Creatures take 2d4 points of fire damage per 5' square of flaming webs." Question: If a large creature is stuck in flaming webs does it take 2d4 or 8d4 points of fire damage? Does it get a bonus to escape if only half of it is in burning webs? |
| Iswald12-16-07, 08:56 AM | Do large creatures take level/d6 hps of damage from a fireball for each square they occupy in the area that the fireball hits? I'd say that it only takes the 2d4 and not give it a bonus to escape if it's only partially in the web. They've already had their chance to evade the effects of the web. Since they failed or are still hindered... |

A webbed creature is stuck if it fails the save and at have movement if succeeds if the web catches fire. All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage every round from the flames if I remember correctly the duration of a flaming web is halfed from the moment it's set on fire. Creatures can not be affected by multiple sources at once and a burning web is considered one source no how many squares the creature occupies. Another example is using a flaming composite long bow with flaming arrows the damage doesn't stack. You must pick which ability to use and generally that's the ability that does the most damage. |

With the second ruling, you could use produce flame to burn a different square occupied by a large creature each round to do 2d4 damage each round. |
