Any one know where I can find information on the Dakon race? I have a reference to it on a recent AR and it had very little explanation.

Thanks,

IIRC, if you can get a hold of a copy of the mod, there's a little background info on them in there. Otherwise, you might also want to post this over in the Greyhawk forum -- since they used to be from an old AD&D adventure, maybe somebody can point you to which one.

The mod was run at a con, so unfortunately a copy is not readily available. I did locate a bit of info from an old LG journal (05) that referred to a gorilla humanoid race called the Dak.

Warning - below may be slightly spoilerish:

The AR in question has the potential to open up this race to the player via a cohort. Starting numerical stats are given, but that's about it. I find it intiguing, but wanted to:

1) get more background/roleplay information to see if it was something that would fit in with my character.

2) See if anyone had actually done this and how it worked out

3) See if there were other adventures that mentioned this race or provided more info that I could adventure on

Thanks for the reply,

except what I can remember from the Mod...

Basicaly you had to toss a training fight to the Ape like humonoids, that where kept as slaves in the mod... and if you did only one person at the table could take him as a Cohort if you had the feet chosen...

thats all I can say there was no greater detail about them...

And I would be that person... but I'm not inclined to accept an offer without more information than the material provides.

It is hard to track down but the Dakon are in a few of the living greyhawk journals, 2 and 5 I think. There was a full monster manual type right up in one of the journals.

Still doesn't give much info.

Described as apes with slightly paler fur and larger brain cases. Very peaceful, living in the the Amedio jungle.

IIRC they're in the Tome of Horrors by Necromancer games and the 1e Fiend Folio as well.
