Not really, as long as you know your home region since they have same information on their page as in LGG. It does offer good background about the deities, history and so forth. But it's of course always wise to support Greyhawk products instead of FR:D |

What specific information? LGCS has quite a lot of pages so I have no way to know what you are referring to.. |
| FourtySeven03-15-04, 06:58 AM | For example: On page 8 - Step 2 - Second Paragraph of the source book it says "Human characers should choose one of the subraces of humanity, explained in Chapter 2 of the Living Grewhawk Gazetteer. |
| Steel Rabbit03-15-04, 12:09 PM | Look, get the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer, it's not that pricy, it can be found in all the stores that sell D&D stuff, and it's an invaluable tool for both a RPGA gamer, and a Greyhawk gamer. -Steel Rabbit |
| Greyson03-15-04, 04:19 PM | The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is not required to play in the Living Greyhawk campaign. Players have to worry about it the least. A GM must have a good knowledge of Greyhawk, and I think they should have one - but it's not required for them either. The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is a survey of the campaign world. It is not a rulebook or guide to character creation. The Living Greyhawk Campaign Sourcebook is a rule book that details the mechanics of managing play and characters in the setting. I think a person can even get away plying without it because there are plenty of people to help you along as you play. After saying all of the above, however, I say get them both. The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is chalk-full of interesting history, background and cultural information. If you want to know Greyhawk, get it. it is awesome - it is worth its pricve just for the map. And the LGCS is just plain helpful when it comes to managing a charater(s) in LG. |

If you require it, that kind of information can be found from several Greyhawk pages. I really suggest you get a Gazetteer for exactly the same reasons as Greyson & Steel Rabbit said. |
| Lost_and_Damned03-21-04, 02:02 PM | but be prepared for a headache reading this school style textbook :D seriously buy this book, rather then the plain D&D Gazetteer, the living Gaz, though a text dense book, is a must for details for bringing Greyhawk to life. |
