OK, I fly around way too much, and I have played LG in the Dutchy of Urnst, Geoff, and Keoland. I have to say, the Dutchy mods are terrible, bordering on unplayable, and the Geoff and Keoland ones are pretty good.

Spoilers below, viewable via inviso-text.

I was supposed to run "The Silent Watch" and the mod made no sense. One Cleric, possibly a 5th level cleric at APL 2, armed with a hydrogen bomb or something, nukes a castle and leaves only a crater and a burned-out villiage. The party is then supposed to track said person down and kill him. An intrepid group of second level characters should be excused for thinking that sleep spells and whatnot are not going to impress someone who has access to nuclear weapons, and don't feel like going after him. In reality, this mod set-up belongs in an epic adventure, not for APL 2-12. I have heard of parties that, after seeing the nuke go off that blows up the entire castle, do NOT go after the main villian, and report the incident to the authorities. If I was playing my 4th level char in this mod, I also would not go after him. Heck, a gang of 10th level character should wonder if they shouldn't run to the powers that be. This guy singlehandedly totally destroys an entire castle, stone blocks and all, and kills all but one of the soldiers. How a 5th level cleric can do this is not explained, but I have played enough GURPS to suspect the time police are likely investigating what happened.

I was spared having to run this mess, as nobody signed up for it. Word got out, I suppose. The core mods are filling up, but the local ones are not. People are playing living Arcanis, and my attempts to get more LG going out here are being met with "The adventures are terrible man, we don't want to play LG."

Is there any way for me to get adventures from other zones?

No, unless you happen to run a cross-regional event or for some reason you are in a convention that has an open slot. Nyronds review section does not indicate that DoU would be so much worse than rest of the world: http://www.nyrond.org/turbine/scenario-list?scope=regional

But there is always one way to get better modules: Write them yourself :D

Maybe you should just start playing World of Warcraft and form a group online like our old RPGA group did.

Kulthos,

As a long time Duchy of Urnst resident I have played a wide range of Duchy mods, some sublime, some terrible. I will admit the mod you played makes more sense at APL 10+ (I just played it at APL 12) and what you outlined is the result of trying to cram a high level adventure into too broad an APL range.

Please don't judge our region on that mod alone.

There are plenty of good mods in the Duchy.

If you are in Portland, OR for Gamestorm7 (March 25-27) come a play most of the Year 4 mods.
