| Norg02-01-06, 12:19 AM | I have access to the elven racial weapons. Can I get MW versions or do I have to get a seperate access to them? |
| paigeoliver02-01-06, 12:42 AM | I think you need separate masterwork access. I am basing that off the fact that I have different access for assorted normal elven racial weapons and assorted masterwork elven racial weapons. |
| WotC_Tulach02-01-06, 09:43 AM | Paigeoliver is correct, you need separate access for masterwork weapons and armor. |
| Iswald02-03-06, 12:06 PM | Paigeoliver is correct, you need separate access for masterwork weapons and armor. This would contradict what Tim said in a post back in December. |
| ithardin02-08-06, 08:58 PM | I have an AR that lists "Masterwork Elven Thinblade" so I would assume you would need seperate access. My meta-org in Verbobonc however grants access (and a slight discount) to either regular or masterwork versions of the light, thin and court blades. Although, between you and me...it seems a little nit-picky. Elves don't make anything crappy-its all masterwork my brutha! I mean if you have to burn a feat to use it (unlike dwarves-jerks) then you should be able to get masterwork :) |
| Iswald02-11-06, 02:10 AM | One line of logic would say that you only get what was in the mod. When this was discussed last December, it was in reference to 'The Good Oerth', a year 4 ShL mod. Since it's retired, I can say that there was an encounter with a forsaker (MotW, I hear). This NPC had a sword, depending upon the APL, it could have been masterwork. He also had a mighty composite longbow [+6]. Regardless of the APL, it was a nonmasterwork bow. The question was whether or not a PC could by a masterwork version of the bow, presumably to enchant later. If PCs only get what was in the mod, then PCs should only be able to purchase this particular non-masterwork bow. On the other hand, authors might want PCs to be able to buy masterwork versions of weapons even if they just put access for the regular version on ARs. For example, PCs might get, as a reward, access to elven weapons crafted in a given region. Even if the AR simply says that you get access to elven thinblades, it would make sense that as long as you are in the region, you could have picked up a masterwork version of the weapon. |
