| Timlagor03-26-08, 10:09 AM | The Campaign is drawing to a close and characters are leaving in new and interesting ways. My 15th level Grey Elf Wizard did a Deal with Mammon to save a lot of Sunndians and became a Pit Fiend ..a noble and selfless sacrifice! (oh yes) What are your (retired) characters up to? |
| Jay_Ibero_91103-26-08, 11:13 AM | The Campaign is drawing to a close and characters are leaving in new and interesting ways. My 15th level Grey Elf Wizard did a Deal with Mammon to save a lot of Sunndians and became a Pit Fiend ..a noble and selfless sacrifice! (oh yes) What are your (retired) characters up to? I haven't gotten any of my characters to retirement yet. He'll never be able to afford it, but my now 14th level druid has access to a staff of power, and I always thought it would be cool to ride up to some BBEG in an interactive or something and break it for the nuke effect... |
| kenobi6503-26-08, 02:01 PM | My primary (a paladin / pious templar of Heironeous) is only 10th level right now, and I don't foresee getting any higher than 12th, maybe 13th, before the end of the year. He's currently courting a fellow paladin of Heironeous; that PC's player and I have been discussing holding the wedding at a con before the end of the year. (Can't you just picture it, the bride and groom both resplendent in shiny full plate armor? :D ) |
| Redfist03-26-08, 02:12 PM | My retired dwarven defender is just kicking back drinking ale grumbling about how his homeland told him to search elsewhere for employment. My wizard is 15th level currently and has been turning more aggressive and "dark" ever since going to the Pale. I'm not going to do the stereotypical "free evil act" during my last adventure, but he's probably going to start doing things people don't expect. My two 11th level PCs won't reach retirement levels... |
| copperwyrmling03-26-08, 03:38 PM | My L15 cleric is just doing a final tour of the Flanaess to discharge some old debts and tie up some loose ends, then she'll perform a ritual to transform herself into a being of elemental fire and return to Perrenland to take up her duties as that nation's High Priestess of the Church of Joramy. (She's founded two temples to Joramy in a land that previously had none, so she'll have plenty of work to keep her occupied.) My L15 wild mage will probably play the finale plot arc, as she's been receiving all sorts of interesting dreams involving Doomgrinder, and the final descent of the universe into chaos is kind of her style ;) I have no idea how she'll go out: ideally it would be something like, "I wonder what happens if I press this button?" followed by the end of the universe, but I doubt that'll happen ;) My dervish will hopefully reach L15 and then stop adventuring in favor of full-time military service, as by retirement he should be either a Commander or (hopefully) a Brigadier in his country's army. I don't expect my other two characters to make retirement - if the Shadowcraft Mage manages to complete her prestige class I'll be happy, and the storm-worshipping druid charger who strikes with a lance of lightning from the skies only really needs to get to L9 for her coolest tricks to come online. |
| Mattastrophic03-27-08, 12:33 AM | My Celene grey elf Virtuoso just hit Level 15, and I decided to give him a level of Ruathar, then I saw the Gift of the Elves and the Word of Friendship abilities, it hit me... After many years of performing brave and selfless acts in the name of his Queen, after having found the Queen's missing consort Maedolas (in GEO5-02), and after putting himself in harm's way to protect his people without having been asked to, Queen Yolande nobly (and technically-unofficially) makes him a knight of the Companion Guard of Celene. She bestows on him the gift of a thinblade forged from the moon itself (starmetal), and thus an elf of peasant upbringing receives the respect of the whole Faerie Kingdom. Then I had him retrain into Weapon Finesse and gave him Arcane Strike. Hell yes. -Matt aka Solaufyn Ithilnelle, grey elf Virtuoso |
| Surgebuster03-27-08, 01:38 AM | My Swashbuckler Haro caught the eye of a young noblewoman who proceeded to accept his romantic suit and eventual offer of marriage. I could say he has retired from adventuring but that would suggest the monogamy monster he battles every day isn't an epic-level challenge! Elminster even attended the wedding, it was in all the papers. :D Joe |
| _metz_03-27-08, 07:18 AM | I have two high level PCs. Legendary Dread Scarlett Corsair Pirate Captain Sarian Van Mattiaun is a 15th level Pirate, who now owns a Greatship, and a smaller fleet of Caravels. He will sail his ship to the end of the world with his old friends (see stupidly titled thread) and will eventually become a Sea Baron. I got him to Legendary Captain, so he has acheived what I wanted him to, to get a rogue to 15; make it effective, own a fleet, be recognised across the flanaes, and have a silly title. Auchdritte Damun Van Stratton Khund is an almost 14th level cleric earth dreamer, who intends to take his place as a high priest of the recently reestablished Khund nation in Perrenland. He also intends to become the formal liason between the Khund and Perrenland, PArticualrly in military matters (only reason he is not the top rank for a PC is that in Perrenland you have to existed for three real years as a PC to qualify, I have not played LG for tha tlong) though this is not necessarily going to happen. (probably should pester Bruce/Patrick about that) I don't have major dreams of becoming anything amazing, I just want to acheive the roleplaying applications of each PC, as both have acheived the 'mechanical' things I wanted them to acheive. (One is a Dread Pirate/Scarlett Corsair/Legendary Captain, the other is a Full Earth dreamer who can earth glide etc) |
| RanielK03-27-08, 11:32 AM | Well, my 12th level Wild Mage (CN, Grey Elf, Wizard 8/Ftr 1/SpS 1/WM 2) was going to go out in style in some battle interactive using a favor that let him be a half celestial for a mod. The two round LG finale would have been cool. Only he fell to a paly trap in Hanging Glacier. Which leads us to . . . My Dark Aasimar Sorcerer 10 (Sorcerer 6/Ruathar 2/War Weaver 2). (Shouldn't have touched that black sphere in the GenCon CORS two years ago, +2 LA sucks). He was going to make 16th, then he died. He recovered and was going to make 16th, then the wife and I were going to cut back on conning just cause. Then we found some stuff to sell on ebay and he was going to make 16th, then Uncle Sam asked for beaucoup taxes (stupid company not withholding). So now either he's going to retire or I'm just going to say "frell it" and eat everything for everyone and ignore that I'm not really playing in any final story arcs. If I do somehow shake loose the cash and go, I'll be headed to Pandemonium Mayhem, where he'll be bucking for the empty seat on Furyondy's Council of Four. If you see me there, I could use your votes adventurers! After all, what better person to fill the Fire Mage seat than a War Weaver? Besides, while he is a Sorcerer, he does have the knowledge (K (Arcana) 10, Spellcraft 12), the ability to act directly in combat (War Weaver, Rapid Metamagic, Maximize Spell and Enlarge Spell), as well as pass on his knowledge (Scribe Scroll). If I am playing, he'll even be 12th by then (War Weaver 4, 6th level spells and another Metamagic Feat). My 11th level Radiant Servant of Cheese got his dream access. He's got Sacred Armor, Rod of Defiance, Phylactry of Undead Turning, Empower Turning, Improved Turning, and the Glory Domain. He just needs those cool Light of Spells from Complete Cheese, er Champion, and it would take something insanely over level to not get turned by him. He'll finish up the last three Tenha mods if I could only get a table for the first year 6 one (From the Dust?). There are plenty of people for the other two, just not the first one. The only other character I even vaguely care about is my Kobold Rogue 1, who is doing the Greyhawk Ruins stuff. I've been informed by my better half we probably won't have the time to level them up properly (CGR7-03 followed by some mods to level then CGR8-01 followed by some mods then GR8-02 followed by more mods then the ADP). So, we'll probably just "cheat" recreate our LG characters at 8th and play it straight from the mod and not as the ADP. |
| solbergb03-27-08, 05:59 PM | Hm. I think Burke (L15 halfork pholtan monk) has a couple more mods left in him before he's done. Essentially continuations or conclusions of stories he's involved in. He's been detatching from the Pale for a while and focusing his energy on his growing family in the Rakers, and rebuilding the Eagle Pass tribe (abandoning the path of rage does NOT mean being a victim. Discipline is better than rage!) In a few more years, the first of his kids will start growing up to be monks, fighters or wizards. Or possibly thespians. Olivia (L15 sorceress) is just about ready to settle down and start a family, although she's yet to find the right Rhenee guy, matchmakers exist. But planar disasters keep dragging her into fights and she'll probably be doing covert missions for the three unrelated spy organizations she's involved with the rest of her life. And that Ruathar training which allows her to remain vigorous while having her first kid in her 30s tends to drag her into elvish conflicts. Orofin (L9 arcane archer) retired to help his daughter (L9 druid) deal with the loss of her animal companion in their final adventure. She'll get over it in 50 years or so :). Like Olivia he might come out of retirement for specific threats to forests or elves that happen to be APL8-10 instead of 12-16. Katryn (L8 pouncekitty) is in the middle of Red Hand of Doom chapter 4. She might not survive it or chapter five. I have no idea what she'll do when the campaign ends, her future is too uncertain. She's involved in a couple Nyrond plots that I'll probably try to finish up with her even though it may not make sense with RHOD timing. Mogoom (L8 warchanter) just got his mithril fullplate and finished a "last stand against swarms of orcs" adventure in his home Raker mountains. I think he's about retired too, although he might make another appearance for rakers-specific adventures, as his gold mine is there. He'll spend his downtime reading his library of forbidden books and on wedding negotiations with Sweetbud Uglie (he and her brother hit it off. She's still resisting. Luckily dwarvish courtships take decades). Mugwort (L5 favored soul) will dink around in a few more low level Greyhawk adventures, finish up the Turrok Mack stuff and finally get his wish for a quiet life. Maybe. He's kind of unlucky and Procan might get bored. Bela (L4 trapfinding tank) was last seen drinking up the profits of his adventures. If I get some more Nyrond modules that aren't tied to or are better suited for another character or a low level adaptable comes out he may get back into shape and actually buy that armor and horse and stuff he had his eye on, but if not, he is already vastly richer than he ever expected to be. He'll probably end badly :) |
| Lomiat03-28-08, 12:35 AM | Renton (15 occult slayer/tripper -- of a rogue-ish bent) ...is going to attend the Dyvers finale -- the 3-round interactive. If he survives that, he'll probably end up quitting all the jobs people give him that don't offer direct monetary rewards but, instead, offer "favors" whereby people will take what you found, study the items and offer to enchant stuff just like it at double what they paid you for them! Some deal... He'll almost certainly abandon that adventurer's money trap for a behind-the-scenes, off-screen position with some organization or Another, making sure he (and other people) get(s) paid. Rackhir (13 trickster) ...is going to play the Core thieves' arc and see where that takes him. Possibly evil. Aegon (8 cleric) ...is going to continue bouncing around on random (APL 6-10/12) jobs, hoping to do good deeds -- and then return to the Temple of Lydia in Greyhawk every now and then to report his deeds to the young female acolytes. This should be an even better plan once he gets his Circlet of Persuasion. Someday, if he keeps performing good deeds, perhaps Lydia will smile upon him and allow him to meet one of her celestial servants (and find Contemplative access). Addis (4 archer) ...is going to continue to explore Zagyg's home ("Zagyg, Zagyg! ZAGYG!! Oi, OI! OI!!!" -- drinks ale) until the end of that series. Perhaps die. Perhaps not. (/me rolls a d20) Lomiat (15 wizard) ...is recently married but has no intention of settling down. Rather, his wife keeps asking him to bring her with on his adventures (in the first one, she -- the 67 hit point bard -- survived a full-attack from a marilith), and he believes that the Sidhee will benefit by lending assistance to the Shield Lands against the forces of Old Wicked. He might go out in a blaze of glory in the final Shield Lands interactive... but if he does, there's going to be a lot of evil going out first. He'll push this fight as far as he can... perhaps recruiting Maesto and Azrien and the others who want to "take the fight to Old Wicked." Besides, he hasn't killed a Greater Boneheart. Yet. |
| _metz_03-28-08, 07:12 AM | Rackhir (13 trickster) ...is going to play the Core thieves' arc and see where that takes him. Possibly evil. Rackhir is a douche :) |
| Suvarov45403-28-08, 07:35 PM | My Dwarf tank of Moradin just got his first level of Battlesmith (at 9th, instead of 8th like I had originally planed). I'll play him as much as I can, but he can now retire to his forge at any time, satisfied with all he'd accomplished, crafting magical arms and armor for the next generation of heros. |
| rockondon03-29-08, 12:34 AM | my lvl 14 female cleric got the aquatic subtype (including blue skin and gills - she breathes underwater) along with a mermaid's hand in marriage in a regional mod. She'll probably end up retiring somewhere underwater, possibly looking for adventure below sea level instead of above. I hadn't intended her to be bisexual, but it makes for great roleplaying so what the hell. She and her wife might be willing to threesome with any handsome ship captains mentioned above. Watch the waves, you might see my blue-skinned, mithral full plate elf rising out of the waters with her fish-bride looking for some fun. |

Set the fleet a new course! we go in search of mermaids!!! *Stands heroically in a dashing pose on the prow* |
| rockondon03-29-08, 01:33 AM | ^ ha ha. The region is zeif. And you might think twice if you saw my charisma. A common encounter for me goes like: "Oh no. Nasty undead. Oh wait! We got a cleric who can turn them" *Don shows character sheet to the person who said that* *The person looks at my cleric's charisma modifier* :weep: "Scratch that....looks like we're fighting" |

Though My 15th level Pirate has Cha 10, no cloak and yet a reliable +32 diplomacy and Bluff. I deliberately wanted him to be a normal looking guy who was just _that_ glib. And with a bit of makeup, the odd presdigitation, and a hat of disguise, a threesome is still a threesome... |
| Stnkfist03-29-08, 12:46 PM | I haven't gotten any of my characters to retirement yet. Best...retirement....ever! |
| _m_03-30-08, 11:42 PM | my only 15th lvl (wiz 3, shad 3, darkt 1, noct 8) (100 xp from retirement) plans to try and kill iuz with a party of 15's from syd and canberra. seemed like a fair way to go out. it was going to be the mad greater boneshadow dude... but i already killed him. |
| Hariman03-31-08, 01:08 AM | My Rogue Wizard has found a nice sleepy little town, opened up a tavern and will spend the rest of his life telling tales of his days as an adventurer. But he'll never tell the truth about why he stopped adventuring. (Save if he fails his will save VS a zone of truth.) Few adventurers want to admit that he retired because he was nearly killed by a flight of stairs. Still, he's got some doozies to tell. Like the time he went back in time to retrieve the last flower of sulm. Or the tale of the desecrators of the lords tomb. Not to mention few men can boast of being not only a human, but also and elf and a halfling before being reincarnated as their original self. |
| kenobi6503-31-08, 11:18 AM | Not to mention few men can boast of being not only a human, but also and elf and a halfling before being reincarnated as their original self. LOL. My paladin is a human, and always has been. And yet...he's also considered a dwarf, due to a blessing from Moradin. And, he's also considered a fey, due to the Nymph's Kiss feat. It's all so confusing. :D |
| dkay80703-31-08, 12:01 PM | Nym Greenbottle, Martyr of Bissel - The legendary Halfling Lasher turned Dervish went out in an epic blaze of glory when he struck the killing blow on Evard the Necromancer in the Battle Beneath the Dome and was vaporized by some unknown, powerful evocation along with his best friend and adventuring companion, Mason DeVillars, also known as 'Grandpa.' While statues depicting their noble sacrifice have been erected in Thornward and bards sing of their deeds, the pair has actually accepted a call from beyond the grave and currently fights alongside the remainder of their adventuring company, The Concillators, locked in an eternal war on the Plane of Shadow. Rogue 3/Fighter 4/Lasher 9 - Converted to and retired as Monk 2/Fighter 4/Dervish 10. Lord Olaf Tharand, Greatest Hero of Tusmit - The great Dwarven Defender vowed to keep his homeland of Tusmit safe and in a special mission, successfully negotiated with an arch-devil on his home plane. Lord Olaf's terrible concession was agreeing to permit the devil to inhabit him for the period of one year. That was three years ago and Lord Olaf has yet to be seen. His two keeps in the Sheikdom of Dinh are currently maintained by his most loyal servant, Sal'Hadin, a Baklunish Conjurer. Retired as Paladin 3/Fighter 4/Exotic Weapon Master 1/Dwarven Defender 9. Lord Captain Brondor Stormhammer, Sword of Bissel and Leader of the Sons of Thunder - After Bissel's successful occupation of Lopolla in Ket, the leader of the Sons of Thunder stepped down from the adventuring life to bring his family to his new keep in the Barony of Nightwatch. He has established a smithy where he now crafts and ehances magical arms and armor for soldiers and adventurers alike - his craftsmanship is unparalelled. He continues to serve in the Great Army of Bissel, currently leading the command staff of General Opa Dasco, first in line to become Bissel's new Field Marshall and proud member of the Sons of Thunder. The new leader of the Sons of Thunder, Lord Nicos Stormhammer now leads the company in their final campaign. Retired early as Fighter 2/Diviner 4/Spellsword 9. |
| ceregon03-31-08, 12:13 PM | If he survives (and if the RPGA ever releases) the High Level finale for the second arc, my Half-Orc Pholtan monk will reach 20th level. My retired Aasimar hit 16th as a Paladin/Pious Templar, but would probably convert to either a straight Paladin or Favored Soul of Ehlonna. Of course, there's nothing for him to play, so any conversion is moot. My halfling scoundrel retired at GenCon 2007 and will take a level of Contemplative for 16th, but i haven't decided if it will be of Brandobaris (who will understand if he's unfaithful) or Blibdoolpoolp (who has the biggest set of ******** he ever got to touch). My Dragon Disciple (13), Loremaster (12), Shadowcraft Mage (11), and Enlightened Fist (10) will not reach retirement because play opportunities have dropped off, there's not as much interest in LG anymore, and because there aren't that many mods that support play higher than APL 12. Some of my lower level character concepts may find their personalities transplanted into other Living/Campaigns offered in the future. |
| Randall Montgomery03-31-08, 01:52 PM | My main, Devlin Rainguard, Human Wizard 7/Fatespinner 4/Holy Scourge of Heroinious 2, is just turning 20 this year, and is far too young to retire. After finishing the Windows to the Serpent's Soul series, the Iuz Metaregional Dragon Scales series (these things have got to have some purpose), and the LG finale, Devlin will find himself unceremoniously dumped into a strange land called Faerun, unable to access his previous abilities. Fortunantly his Boccob's Blessed Book, the only magical item remaining to him after his bizarre translocation, bought him enterance into a marvelous place called "Candlekeep", where he will spend two years learning all about the land and history of his new world (wow, this spellplague thing was really a bummer). After deciding that this world needs his help more than Oerth, he will dedicate himself to Heroinious' aspect in Faerun, Torm, and do everything in his power to make the Realms a better place. My second, Maiyrhel Staciakiir, Wood Elf Ranger 4, is currently trapped in the shadowdark. While I have hopes of finishing out the series, chances are she'll remain stuck down there forever. :( |
| Maesto04-01-08, 05:16 PM | Lomiat (15 wizard) ...is recently married but has no intention of settling down. | _m_04-01-08, 06:39 PM | And you bet, when you find one, we'll be right there beside you, jostling for first place in the initiative order ;-) ... what about me... can i come? u can have initative... i always roll a 4 anyway. |
| Timlagor04-01-08, 07:56 PM | Hmm Horalion might decde that sounds like fun... ;) [and a 4 still gives him 21 these days ..of course there's no guarantee he'd be fighting on your side ] |
| Mattastrophic04-02-08, 01:38 PM | Nym Greenbottle, Martyr of Bissel - The legendary Halfling Lasher turned Dervish went out in an epic blaze of glory when he struck the killing blow on Evard the Necromancer in the Battle Beneath the Dome and was vaporized by some unknown, powerful evocation along with his best friend and adventuring companion, Mason DeVillars, also known as 'Grandpa.' Rogue 3/Fighter 4/Lasher 9 - Converted to and retired as Monk 2/Fighter 4/Dervish 10. That's pretty bad-ass, man. I wish I could get the opportunity to take out someone mentioned in the PHB. Unfortunately, my chosen foe, Turrosh Mak, is a Core NPC. So either everyone will kill him, or no one will. *sigh* Thus is the way of the Living game... -Matt |
| greggh04-02-08, 04:43 PM | My primary (a paladin / pious templar of Heironeous) is only 10th level right now, and I don't foresee getting any higher than 12th, maybe 13th, before the end of the year. He's currently courting a fellow paladin of Heironeous; that PC's player and I have been discussing holding the wedding at a con before the end of the year. (Can't you just picture it, the bride and groom both resplendent in shiny full plate armor? :D ) It's nice that Arrias has moved on. If he wants a Cuthbertine concelebrant to provide an official Viscounty presence at the wedding, be sure to let me know. Not-quite-retired Abbot Duncan MacHaarl is never too busy to come out of Guildren Abbey to help his friends and neighbors, and I promise he won't talk about Kourtney during the wedding ;) GMH |

Not-quite-retired Abbot Duncan MacHaarl is never too busy to come out of Guildren Abbey to help his friends and neighbors, and I promise he won't talk about Kourtney during the wedding ;) GMH Well, Arrias was very conflicted when he first met Medb, fresh on the heels of Kourtney's passing. I don't think it's gonna be a "let's settle down and have kids" kind of marriage; more like "let's destroy evil together." :D If Duncan would be a concelebrant, that'd be very cool. |
| Hariman04-02-08, 11:19 PM | LOL. My paladin is a human, and always has been. And yet...he's also considered a dwarf, due to a blessing from Moradin. And, he's also considered a fey, due to the Nymph's Kiss feat. It's all so confusing. :D Did I mention that he started out as a male human, became a female elf, then a female halfling, then his original human male self again? If only his build were better, or if I could have rolled over 4 for ranged touch attack rolls, he might still be around. |
| kenobi6504-03-08, 12:33 AM | Did I mention that he started out as a male human, became a female elf, then a female halfling, then his original human male self again? LOL. OK, that wins. :) |
| Reylance04-03-08, 01:36 AM | My half-dragon, when not serving as a commander in the Great Army of Bissel, can be found sleeping on a large pile of coins in his mountain lair. |
| MwaO04-04-08, 01:25 PM | Ishkara Zahira - Enlightened Fist 14 - she will almost certainly lead the charge on the final plotline. Primary high APL character. Will almost certainly get to 15th. Nexkile Hedrosh - Bard 8/Marshal 1. Professional Actor turned adventurer turned actor again. He's mostly retired, but might play some additional mid level core mods if I get to a convention. Erendil - Rogue Archer 8. Pious Templar of Ehlonna actually guarding a temple. Mostly retired, but might play some more mods. Marokep Hennae - "Favored of Pelor" Beguiler 6. Primary low APL character. He'll be going through Sinister Spire, Expedition to Greyhawk Ruins, Fortress of the Yuan-Ti, and Dragondown Grotto. If I get to play him at another regional convention after Sinister Spire but before EtGR, that'll get him enough XP to play EtGR without too many issues. Which will let me play the other two characters. It seems likely that he'll get to about 13th level or so. Hammat-Dur - Wizard 4. Mostly retired after finishing Barrows. Hasn't been played in almost a year. I'd be shocked if I play him again. |
| ithardin04-16-08, 12:16 AM | Will Arrias be sending an invitation to Ketter's Hearth to his FAVORITE member of the Gnarley Elf Clans to attend the wedding? Arafinwe is now a priest of Correllon and will soon be made a Sword Knight of the Elf-father. I'm sure he would love to see Arrias tie the knot :) My main PC (Arno "The Shrike" Williams: Rogue11/Suel Aracanamach2/Swash1) will be spending the next few months tempting fate in the Dyvers finale so as to bring back vital intel to his "Uncle" in Verbobonc. Soon after that he'll be participating in the Verby finale and then who knows... He does know he plans on spending as much time as possible in the close proximity of such stalwart oaks as Abbot McHaarl because lying ankle-deep in water while in a nightmare-induced coma is NOT the most pleasant of things for a handsome, dashing rogue to get involved in. I think before he retires I would love for him to make the DC50 disable device he is capable of doing :) |
| Cpttylorx04-16-08, 01:47 AM | The Sin of Wee Jas will be having himself an epic little tea party in Furyondy before he decides to go blow up the Doomgrinder. Should my supplies not run out I should have about ten elemental monoliths and a Astral Deva to back me up on said Grinder to have myself some fun. |
| Timlagor04-16-08, 10:04 AM | I was hoping to see interesting ways (other than just hitting level 16) in which PCs have already left the campaign.. seems there aren't as many of those as I thought though. |
| RanielK04-16-08, 11:37 AM | I was hoping to see interesting ways (other than just hitting level 16) in which PCs have already left the campaign.. seems there aren't as many of those as I thought though. My 12th level primary is immortal now. He's a nutter stuck in a big ice cube having conversations with his familiar and . . . well the air mostly. I pity the poor soul who wanders in and gets roped into talking with him. How's that not interesting? Course, he was going to go out using that favor from All Roads lead to Rauxes which would let him be a half celestial for a mod. Then he fell to a Paly Trap. |
| kenobi6504-16-08, 11:52 AM | Will Arrias be sending an invitation to Ketter's Hearth to his FAVORITE member of the Gnarley Elf Clans to attend the wedding? Arafinwe is now a priest of Correllon and will soon be made a Sword Knight of the Elf-father. I'm sure he would love to see Arrias tie the knot :) I dunno...somehow I picture Arafinwe taking advantage of the opportunity to loudly remind everyone, once again, how his wife died at Emridy Meadows. ;) Though, to be honest, Arrias may be more worried about Dude and Dude showing up, and deciding that the reception would be a lot more fun if they added some of their "special herbs" to the punch. |
| stonebasher04-16-08, 12:56 PM | My 13th lvl ranger/horizon walker got ate by "That Which Slept" and is now Dragon poo. That interesting? Wes |
| Dempster04-16-08, 01:23 PM | I think Anvil will spend all of his gold paying luxury upkeep for everyone adventuring in Highfolk's final interactive. I am also going to buy 5000 cold iron daggers just for funsies. At the end of the interactive I will remove my ring of counterspells and empowered disintegrate myself. |
| Timlagor04-16-08, 05:52 PM | My 13th lvl ranger/horizon walker got ate by "That Which Slept" and is now Dragon poo. That interesting? Wes Well that's probably not something he's proud of... (no idea what "That Which Slept" is) |
| stonebasher04-16-08, 06:10 PM | "That Which Slept" is a colossal corrupted silver dragon that is actively working towards bringing Tharizdun back to Oerth. In one of the interactives, some of the higher lvl (APL 14) tables were raiding her lair. Us awesome APL 12 tables had a mojority decide to Greater Teleport to them to help them out (multiple Miracle Favors.) Well, after fighting most of her servants, they found she was home when one of the walls of the cave opened an eye. By this time, I had Dimension Doored one of the NPCs and a party member out (the rest stayed down to help the APL 14 table.) After recovering the item they came for, 1 person dying, the aspect of Tharizdun beating down an Astral Deva, the APL 12 party beating down the Aspect of Tharizdun, everyone in there that could word of recall/teleport out did so. Roleplaying-wise, thinking they were still down there, I dimension doored back down there to help get more people out. When I materialized down there, the druid (wildshaped into a cheetah) zoomed past me and out the door. I called out to see of anyone was still down there (not a good idea.) The last person in there (a cleric of Quetzecoutal, I believe) turned the corner. Then the dragon broke through the wall. I tried to casually suanter over to the cleric (I rolled a 1 on my D. Door respawn and it was 3 am,) upon which the dragon proceeded to AOO me, improved grab me, and put me in his mouth. I tried to D. Door out of the grapple, but to no avail (alway's depended on my Con to make the concentration checks, but a +6 wasn't enough this time.) Next round, before the dragon swallowed me, she breathed, giving me 10 negative levels. that killed me, then the dragon ate me. Anyways, there's the story. That dang dragon is still a major plot device running around in the bandit kingdoms. We'll have to fix that at the Bandit Kingdoms finale. Wes |

Cut him some slack Arrias, it was only 20 years ago...that's like six months ago for an elf. |
| kenobi6504-17-08, 12:09 AM | Cut him some slack Arrias, it was only 20 years ago...that's like six months ago for an elf. True enough. :D I can also picture Arafinwe standing up during the reception and saying, "I know it's traditional to wish a married couple fertility...but I must say, I wish you to be barren, so that there are no more humans brought in to sully this land, so that my people might be one step closer to reclaiming it for civilization!" |
| ithardin04-17-08, 09:42 AM | Oh that is beautiful...reminds me of making that 1/2 elf cry during "Sign of the Black Orchid" and dying in laughter as Vernon roleplayed it with big A. |
| Cpttylorx04-17-08, 03:01 PM | My first epic retirement was Kadah Gnomercy. - A gnome sorcerer devoted to Oldimmara, with a fetish for vecna artifacts. So he in his own twisted mind decides in his robe of vecna to kick in the door to Wee Jas's throne room on her home plan, stride forth to her and say "Hey Yo" at which point she focused a bit of her mind on him, and well. I needed a four to make the save, I rolled a 3. No big deal Im cool with Zagyg I reroll, I get a 3. Okay. Not so good but I have two other favors, so I roll again. anther bloody 3! Ah well he was a good 13th level sorcerer. But his replacement has been an absolute horror for Furyondy!. Good times indeed. Skip W. |
| katrick04-18-08, 03:36 PM | Darius Firebrand Vosser, Honoured Lord of Tenh, Shieldbrother of the Khund, Friend of the Kershane elves, member of the Dragon Born Register, Cabalist in the Sefmur College of Arts, Favoured of the Old Kerk, Staunch Defender of Traft, Oathsworn Slayer, Ally of Tenser, Bane of Ancient Darkness, Liberator of slaves, bearer of the Vormans Cross and Honoured Ally of Rary the Patriot. Spends the next four months fulfilling the terms of servitude in the Mighty Thrid Auszug in Yattenheid, which he apparently signed whilst inebriated.(your in the army now son). And after 4 years(usually 3) in service, he has gallantly dug latrines all over the Flanaess(disintigrate) for such minor discrepancies as prestidigious fun with high echelon officers, smuggling in ladys of the night (they brought the Assasin Vine Wine with them), teleporting in for rollcall and then teleporting out after, smuggling err acquiring necessary equipment/food etc.... and though his sevice will officially end he wil never leave them alone. But during the meanwhile or whilst AWOL if you like, I have been exploring the multiverse for new and wonderful magics.(hiding my meddling in the black arts from Trey Irander that pesky Diamond Zauber). Also helping in humanitarian efforts, repatriating refugees from the Orcish Hordes in the Pomarj, through the aid of Ugron and the Dyver Anti-Slavery League (pressganging fellow recruits for the Auszug)when you wear the Robe of Vecna people tend to listen, yes even Orcs. And in between all that, there's travelling the Flanaess to all the houses of Ill repute, and of course that certain tavern where i like to drink at midnight. But at the moment, Im hangin at the temple of Zagyg in Twilight Falls, discussing the future. Darius P.S. Limineth the Raven has gone on to become a Comtemplative of Nerull Oh yeah the point, i should have been retired for trying to cast Animate Dead on the bear(Das Shwartzebruin) |
| greggh04-18-08, 05:33 PM | Well, Arrias was very conflicted when he first met Medb, fresh on the heels of Kourtney's passing. I don't think it's gonna be a "let's settle down and have kids" kind of marriage; more like "let's destroy evil together." :D If Duncan would be a concelebrant, that'd be very cool. In that case, I hope Abbot MacHaarl can be there for his friends and neighbors in the town of Swan. Of course, that's presuming The Shrike doesn't get us both unrecoverably killed at the Obsidian Citadel, and that the abbot survives the current turmoil of Viscount Estival's first (last?) year in power :( For the OP's interest, I think founding Guildren Abbey and being appointed to the Verbobonc Council of Abbots are fine accomplishments for Duncan to take into retirement. I have one more goal on my to-do list, but we'll have to see how that plays out.... GMH |
| ithardin04-20-08, 11:38 AM | that's presuming The Shrike doesn't get us both unrecoverably killed at the Obsidian Citadel Well you've uncovered my cunning plan...to get us both killed at Weekend in Dyvers! Ian |
