| Swiftbrook05-14-07, 03:59 PM | GenCon 2007 registration is over, well at least for the 90 lucky ones that got in. Is there an ETA for the Greyhawk Ruins Sourcebook? Last I heard of Spring. -Swiftbrook |
| chesspiece05-15-07, 05:44 PM | The latest news (from a Feb '07 article) is: The current plan is to make the Greyhawk Ruins Sourcebook available in early June 2007. If time allows, there will be a short period of player review. So to answer your question - probably end of May. They just posted info on the series at the RPGA site. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgad/20070515a But it says: All Greyhawk Ruins adventures retire on 31 December 2008 giving you plenty of time to play them. Should this have read 2009 or is there a shortened schedule? Checking the older release announcements: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgcn/20061205a http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgad/20070227a I see that Dec '08 was mentioned in the Dec '06 article when the CGRs were all planned for release this year. This 'early' expiration date wasn’t mentioned in the Feb '07 article where the release dates were changed (3 modules are 2008 releases). I hope that the ADP (Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk) doesn't expire before the last CGR module. Otherwise there might not be enough time to level appropriately and play them in order. :( Also, the new article reiterates that: Only new or 1st-level characters can play in Greyhawk Ruins. (That is the AR for the first adventure must appear in your stack before you reach 2nd-level). So we're back being told that this doesn't have to be AR#1. The February article had implied that CGR had to be AR#1 since it used terms such as "new character" and "first AR". This detail might not be finalized / clarified until the Sourcebook comes out. |
