Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk adventure availability? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-31-07, 02:14 AM The information so far states that the first few levels are for the RPGA Living Greyhawk Campaign. I would like to get these adventures to run. Can we get details of dates and how to get the adventures?

Greyhawk Ruins Composition

Adventure 1: May release; APL 2
Adventure 2: Gen Con Indy release; APLs 2-4
Adventure 3: Gen Con UK release; APLs 2-6
Adventure 4: Gen Con So Cal release; APLs 2-8

Perhaps the names of the adventures or any other available information?

09-03-07, 11:19 PM I get the feeling the end of LG pushed Greyhawk Ruins to the back burner. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing was cancelled in favor of story-ending adventures.

Yes, CGR7-01 parts 1 and 2 were out for GenCon. CGR7-02 will be the same adventure with parts 1-4 available. Those playing CGR7-01 can play -02 parts three and four later.

Each adventure, from -02 on, will have four play zones with an AR for each zone. I had fun playing the first two parts and look forward to parts 3 and 4.

If you judged parts 1 and 2 at GenCon, even if you managed to slot-0 them, you are barred from played parts 1 and 2. Glad I didn't sign up to judge them, and unfortunately (with the campaign ending), it's not part of my focus and I likely won't play it at all.

If you read any of CGR2 you cannot then play any of CGR2.

I have it on good authority that running CGR1 does not prevent you playing CGR2 (parts 3&4).

The DC is extremely confusing on this point of course.

My understanding is that CRG1 was not supposed to be available for any play aside from Gencon and GenConUK. (another good sign for the whole 'Insider' project)

This would have to be disseminated, then, since I assume the opposite. Without further information, I assume that CGR1 is identical to the first half of CGR2.

Q: Can you play parts one and two of CGR7-01 Ruins of Discovery at Gen Con, go home and run them, then play parts three and four later?

A: No, the zones are all interlinked. Thus, even if you only read parts one and two after playing them, you would still learn snippets of information about zones three and four. You can of course DM it after you have played all four parts or if you don’t wish to play parts three and four.

The Dispel Confusion specifically references CGR7-01, not -02. Thus, I refuse to judge the zones I've already played, and people are denied play opportunities in my area.

09-04-07, 07:55 PM I think the DC was based on the assumption that you can't get CGR7-01 to run at home. As you say it does need clearing up officially.

I certainly won't be running anything until it's absolutely clear or I have already played parts 3&4.

Well, mowaca's quote had the info you wanted:

Not that I'm anyone official either, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. This was how it was explained to me by various Triads and Circlish people I spoke with at GenCon. They shall remain nameless so this doesn't get confused with an official post.

7-01 GenCon zones 1&2
7-02 Sept zones 1-4
7-03 Dec
8-01 DDXp
8-02 later (I forget when)
