| Howie2312-05-06, 01:08 PM | Fast Play Characters for LG have been published here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/dndlg/fastplay Would it be possible to get these reviewed and revised for a couple of general issues as well as character specific corrections? General issues: Please leave the PCs with 24 gold for a core mod. These fast play characters are set up to be living off the wild in core mods. It looks like thse were created with Heroforge,as they include some of the Heroforge errors (such as universal shortbow proficiency). Thanks, David |
| Britt12-05-06, 01:18 PM | If you compile a list of errors, I will see what I can do to get them corrected. |
| Howie2312-05-06, 02:39 PM | If you compile a list of errors, I will see what I can do to get them corrected. Thanks Britt. They're better than I originally thought. Fastplay Character Errors: Cleric Technical Error: Human Cleric is not proficient in Short Bow or Composite Short Bow (special abilities/feats on page 2). Fighter Design Issue: Leave with 24gp for Core Mod Upkeep. Technical Error: Character has too much equipment: chainmail (150gp), hvy steel shield (20gp), dwarven war axe (30gp), light xbow (35gp), light mace (5gp)=240gp (max gp) before any of the adventuring gear or spare gold. Monk Technical Error: Half-orc Monk is not proficient in Short Bow or Composite Short Bow (special abilities/feats on page 2). Ranger Typo: File name. Rranger (with two ‘r’) Design Issue: Leave with 24gp for Core Mod Upkeep. Technical Error: looks like late design change from human to elf. Age is insufficient for adult (110 minimum), height and weight exceed maximum values. Rogue Looks ok. Wizard Design Issue: leave 24gp for Core Mod Upkeep Technical Error: Heavily over equipped. Remember must pay 100gp for familiar (LGCS p. 39). Not familiar with short bow/composite bow. |
| Britt12-05-06, 02:42 PM | If anyone else sees errors, post them here. I'll compile them and see what I can do with it this weekend. Just errors, not adjustments, please! Thanks, David. |
| Japangirl12-05-06, 08:19 PM | Actually, if you start with a familiar in your very first mod, you don't have to pay the 100g for it. LG strange rule thing. If you pick up the familiar at any time thereafter, you have to pay the 100g. |
| pedr12-05-06, 08:28 PM | Do you have a rules citation for that? Particularly you're contradicting Britt's post in another thread. |
| Japangirl12-05-06, 08:36 PM | Yeah I saw that post after I posted mine. That's what I was told when I made my wizard (still didn't pick up a familiar right away though) but no, I can't cite anything right now and I could be wrong. |

"Standard familiars are acquired as per the rules found on Player’s Handbook v.3.5 page 52. You may pay the 100 gp for magical materials during character creation or at some point later, but the fact that you paid that cost and gained a familiar must appear in the play notes of your next adventure record." | kegdrainer12-13-06, 10:39 PM | Just my 2cp. Fighter: Ranks in Cross class skills should be 1.0 and not 1 (Flags it as a CC skill) Monk: Range not listed on handaxe (Thrown), DC/# times day for Stunning Fist not listed. Rogue: DC not listed for Spell-like abilities. Wizard: Base Spell DC not listed, # of spells per day not listed. (IMO, if the characters are for someone to play that has little background in D&D, it should have all needed info at their finger tips. Get them to play first, then show them how characters are made) |
| kjenks12-14-06, 09:20 AM | The link says, "Wizard, Halfling (Lightfoot) Male - with rat animal companion" Technically, it's a familiar, not an animal companion. === Cleric should also have a faint aura of law. He's a blond-haired, blue-eyed Oeridian? Strange. In Oeridian lands, Pelor is sometimes called Sol. |
