Focus as a Spell Component [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-31-06, 09:43 AM When you cast a spell with a focus component in LG, can you buy the component once and be done with it or do you have to pay per casting of that spell?

Does the LGCS even mention focus as a component?

08-31-06, 02:58 PM Focus spell components are part of the Core rules, and therefore used in LG. They are not discussed in the LGCS, which means that they work as per the PHB, i.e. yuo purchase it, once, list it on your charcater sheet, and there after you can use it for the spell. it you had to pay for it for each casting of the spell it would be a Material component rather than a Focus component.
