| Peter_Seckler05-07-07, 04:11 PM | This is just a beg for more Ruins of Discovery events! If the issue is not enough DM's, I'd be glad to slot-0 and then DM this! I just really want to be involved in this storyline, and the evnt has already filled up. (wah!) |
| GorTeX05-07-07, 08:06 PM | I agree..only 3 slots of Runes of Discovery with 30 max in each slot..only 90 people are going to get to play it at GenCon.. It was sold out 12 min after 2 for me (took that long to process my submission..and I hit submit at 1:59 ish ) (note: I'm in the Central timezone, so 2pm my time is 12pm PDT) |
| Genghis Cohen05-07-07, 09:14 PM | 90 spaces for all of the slots seems lean to me. On the other hand, I'll DM it after GenCon for anyone who lives near the city. |
| JohnduBois05-08-07, 07:35 AM | I asked Dave Christ about expanding the events that are already sold out. He said that he was going to try and expand them, but would be unable to determine whether this was possible until June. He also mentioned that at this time, getting in with generics was unlikely, but he was working on it. |
| pedr05-08-07, 07:52 AM | Of course people do return tickets, and people no-show. So worth both checking the registration system periodically to see if there are space tickets*, and picking up generics and hanging round the RPGA area in case! It's also worth noting that the original announcement of the Greyhawk Ruins series said (IIRC) that the modules were being released for home-play, retail, gameday and conventions simultaneously - so not going into any extended premiere programme or suchlike. If that's still the case, there ought to be plenty of other places to play them, apart from GenCon - so you'll have time to explore all the other crazy/wonderful things at GenCon, apart from the RPGA. [* I hope, in this vein, that they've altered the registration system to allow you to drop events on your own, rather than only by e-mail. When I went two years ago I missed out on a Dragonlance game run by Jamie Chambers because I had a clashing event, the system wouldn't let me double book, and by the time I had emailed GenCon to cancel my ticket, the spare seat had, obviously, already gone!] |
| Madfox1105-10-07, 03:41 AM | If I understood Dave the problem is two-fold: (1) space and (2) amount of DMs. 1 is little we can do about. 2 just means that more people will have to DM even if it means eating an adventure or two. |
| JohnduBois05-10-07, 07:24 AM | If I understood Dave the problem is two-fold: (1) space and (2) amount of DMs. 1 is little we can do about. 2 just means that more people will have to DM even if it means eating an adventure or two. After the initial "stuff sold out in less than 12 hours" shock, I'm trying to help resolve (2) - I'm DMing Undermountain at both Origins and GenCon. I get to play the mods via slot zero, and I get to ensure that more people will get to play them at the con. I strongly encourage this option for people who think they are competent to DM a con of this size. |
| CrystalBlue05-10-07, 07:49 AM | I DMed last GenCon, but I had problems in actually playing that year. Hence why I already got up a group of 5 people and bought out 6 tickets for each game we're playing this year. Hey, come on down on Friday to the Ruin's slot. We'll be looking for one more, possibly two more, players to fill out our table of event tickets. :D And we had to make sure our tickets were gobbled up the second they went avalible. We got screwed last year and BARELY got into the special. |
| Fleetfang05-10-07, 05:30 PM | Hey C.B.! If you're offering... If a friend of mine didn't grab me a Ruins ticket, I'd love to join up with your gang. :) I should find out tonight. |
