Okay, I just got done registering for my GenCon slots and had an odd problem. I tried registering for the Open Fiesta midnight slots and it told me registration for those events wouldn't begin until 8/30/2007, which is of course 2 weeks after GenCon 2007 is over. Anyone have a clue what's up with this?

Yeah I ran into that problem too when trying to add them to my cart. Probably something they will fix in a few days so I'd check back. I can't process my stuff though their website times out every time I go to checkout and I'm a cable connection from my house.....

Well, the rest of my stuff processed. Just not that and True Dungeon (which doesn't open registration until 7:00 EST tonight).

I just want to make sure I don't find out they fixed the problem 5 minutes after registration for it is full.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The event is posted to run based on generic tickets anyway. This is mainly because it is all self-mustered (you have to find yourself a DM and enough players to run a table).

The real trick is to get yourself a pre-mustered table before the con. There may be SOME DMs there taking walk-in requests...but I know for my own situation, I have found myself DMs from other states who are going. We did the same thing last year (pre-mustering ourselves) and played in a Pale, Ulek, and Keoland module. We also had BK, Yeomanry, and Verbobonc judges at the table who could run modules from THEIR regions, in case one of the pre-assigned DMs didn't show.

Check with the Warhorn site to help in finding DMs (since that's usually tougher than finding players).

Good luck!

Yeah, finding a judge is the tough part here. The number of players is going to be judges times six, and everyone else is sent home.

So, if your're interested:

a) start planning now
b) bring a mod from your region that you can judge

I found trading very successful (I'll judge Friday, you judge Saturday).

Ah, thank you for the info.

With that in mind, I will offer to run any current Ulek Mod, including the one I wrote, for Open Fiesta if I can get someone else to run me in 1 (or 2) of theirs. I would dearly love to play IUZ6-05 Madhouse as I have heard a lot of good things about it. I cannot play Ulek or Sheldomar Valley mods.

I'm not seeing how that gaurantees you get to play if you offer to run (which is how I understand it is supposed to work).

Hey,

Anyone willing to run -one- Duchy of Urnst mod? I've got fantastic regional access, but I need a regional to take advantage.

I'll trade a Verbobonc or VTF mod, and if you show up a day early to GenCon, I'll throw in a lot more...

Thanks,
Rudolf

Don't look at me for answers; I was just pointing out the e-mail address of the guy people should be asking questions of.

As an aside, though, you've got a bit of game theory problem here: If nobody wants to commit to DMing a game until they're guaranteed a player slot, nobody's going to be DMing or playing anything.

I wonder how they did this last year? It certainly makes sense that those willing to DM should get playing priority over those who aren't.

It worked out pretty well - remember, you only need 1 DM for 6 players. For every 7 people, you only need 1 of those 7 to DM each night.

I even ended up at a table of I think, 5 people. 2 weird mutt rogue acrobat clerics, a wizard who specifically doesn't do damage, a cleric, and my bard.

And the Cleric got turned into a non-caster in an all undead mod...

Hi.

I too would be willing to run either a Verbobonc or a VTF module in exchange for most any other regional module other than Dyvers, which I should be able to get later this year.

I have access to most of Y6 and Y7 modules. If you have a specific module you want run, let me know. As for what I am l looking for, I am not picky.

If I am able to go (I cannot even pre-reg my badge or sign up for events...I hate being a minor...*sigh*)...I will run any Furyondy Regional or Iuz Metaregional for those of prospective interest, in return for housing me and several other people (probably about 3-4 people total) in one of their region's mods.
