I'm prepping to launch an online Living Greyhawk campaign via dndonlinegames.com, and need some advice. Can anybody recommend a good starting LG module for level 1 characters? I've played in the LotGR campaign, and know FR stuff pretty well, but this will be my first foray into Greyhawk.

Any advice - on both modules, or on the idiosyncrasies of handling LG administrative stuff - is appreciated.

"Blood on the Bright Sands" is the first module in a new story arc. It's for first level PCs only. However, it permits some variant races and classes from Sandstorm, so it might not be the best for your purposes.

"Atonement" is probably the best of the core modules currently available, but I can't comment on it's suitability for a party of 1st levels. I know we had a four player table playing up to APL 4 and survived, so it may be suitable.

I think Atonement is a nice mod to start with. It's got a good combination of investigation (i.e. roleplaying) and combat. The combats seem fair. Theron Martin does a good job with the modules I've seen. Granted, I remember one module, Witch Hunt, where PCs have wanted to Fireball the entire village, but you have to give a fair bit of credit to an author that can provoke such a reaction.

I think Atonement is a very nice starting point.

"That Which Was Not Meant To Be Known" is also a good one with there being lots of RP in a very difficult village. Sadly it's for APL 2-6. Which adventure is "Atonement"? By which I mean what's its adventure number? I thought I had pretty much every Core adventure available for home games but if I've missed one I shall be :weep: .

Edit: Never mind I've got it. Just hadn't saved to my adventure disc. Still on the hard drive.

I think APL2 is the lowest APL you're going to find in a Core module (keep in mind that a table of 6 1st-level LG PCs is considered to be APL2). Most (if not all) regions have Introductory modules, which are specifically written for 1st level PCs...but the original poster wants to run online, and thus regional mods aren't an option.

I introduced a character in "That Which Was Not Meant to Be Known" at APL 2 several months ago. I think the table was four 1st level characters (incl. me) and two 2nd level PCs, and we did fine -- a couple of very close calls, but no kills. Lots of role-playing, too, so you really have a chance to nail down your new PC's personality. It works fine as an intro adventure.
