| LGMoses06-19-07, 02:14 AM | I was just wondering if maybe there was any thought of making some sort of region spanning greater meta-org. Heres my example cuz this is hard to explain: I was recently looking through a Yeomanry meta-org called "Hillmen of the Old Faith." This got me interested in druids and in the old faith religion itself. In the meta-org, you start out as initiates. Then, if you are in a spellcasting class such as hi enuff ranger or druid (and meet some other prereqs) you can become an Ovate of the Old Faith. Well, I got to reading up in the Greyhawk Gazetteer on the Old Faith on the final paragraph on page 163 it says that "druids in the heirarchy of the old faith must first serve as ovates...." "only those that rise above this may claim the title of Druid." So I was wondering if there was some larger meta-org opened to every druid, not just Yeoman druids, where my character could one day earn the full title of Druid within the Old Faith. Something like that you know. Since the Old Faith Druidic Heirarchy is a sort of world spanning organization I thought maybe that would fall under something Core or similar. Or Core meta-orgs for other power groups that are well repped just about everywhere. They'd need very very rigorous entry requirements though.... Just a thought |
| Frumpkis06-19-07, 02:38 AM | I've heard talk for over a year now of doing a Mouqollad Consortium metaorg, one that would span the entire VTF metaregion. However, I've yet to see any evidence that this is being actively worked on. (I have a merchant of Mouqol PC from Zeif who would dearly love to join such a metaorg :() |
| Haro06-19-07, 02:51 AM | There is/will soon be an Iuz metaregional org called the Druids of the North that encompasses the Old Faith... Joe |
| NiTessine06-19-07, 06:36 AM | Huh. In the Splintered Suns, we've got three metaregional metaorgs, which I believe is a hard cap. We've got the Jade Mask (Spies of the old Iron League), the Royal Guild of Merchants of Aerdy, and, I think, the Knights of the Chase. We also used to have the Aerdy Re-Enactment Company, but that one was cut and now only exists as a regional metaorg in Adri and Innspa. |

| Bogjob06-19-07, 07:33 AM | Thank God for the Jade Mask, a decent meta org for Rogues as opposed to the poxy Wreckers we're stuck with in Onnwal, a meta org so great very few people re upped for it when the war ended prompting dire threats from triad members on the Onnwal yahoo group about repercussions for not doing so. All of which seem to have been laughed off by the players. :) |

Huh. I remembered that it's active in Poelitz, but I didn't remember that we also had it as a metaorg. This does make it interesting, since we're currently in the process of converting our metaorgs based on the Player's Handbook 2 affiliation system. |
| AOSOL06-19-07, 09:31 AM | I thought some of those wider meta-orgs were in production as we speak. One of the regulars I play with is/was suppose be writing the Knights of Luna meta-org and that's a Sheldomar region org. I think Core meta-orgs would bring even more fun into the LG with the inclusion of the Anti-Slavers league, old fiath druids and Greyhawk Wizards college members. If such orgs for Core games were invented, I think you could pull characters for story arch! This is what I mean by that, lets say the Greyhawk Wizard college existed and the circle of eight (was or is) down a member (again) You could pull a retired character form the college! I know it's a wide-eyed bushy tailed idea I think it would be cool for campaign recognition for PC to elevate to NPC meaningful NPC statis. |
| kenobi6506-19-07, 10:22 AM | In the VTF metaregion, the Gnarley Druids and Gnarley Rangers are already cross-regional metaorgs. |
| berpo06-19-07, 01:22 PM | In the VTF metaregion, the Gnarley Druids and Gnarley Rangers are already cross-regional metaorgs. How ? I'm from tusmit and it's the first time I hear something like that. If it is true It's should atleast be announced by local triad !!! |
| kenobi6506-19-07, 01:32 PM | How ? I'm from tusmit and it's the first time I hear something like that. If it is true It's should atleast be announced by local triad !!! All I can tell you is that the documents (which I downloaded from the Verbobonc Triad's site) have the "shields" from 6 of the 7 VTF regions on it, and contain the following text: "This regional documentation has been issued by the Regional Triads of the Velverdyva, Tuflik, and Fals metaregion and must be turned over to any Triad upon request." Also, the "citizenship" requirement for these metaorgs is only that your PC is a citizen of the VTF metaregion. That said, IIRC, Tusmit's a long way from the Gnarley Forest, so that may be why your Triad doesn't have these up on their web site. (That, and a lot of the bonuses for membership only apply while in the Gnarley, so it may not be that advantageous for a Tusmit citizen to be a member.) |
| CrystalBlue06-19-07, 01:38 PM | Here in Iuz, we have the Drinkers of the Cup of Midnight which anyone from the Iuz meta-region can be from. There is another one that I heard about but don't have confirmation on...and I'm really hoping it's what I think it is. :D |
| Britt06-19-07, 01:41 PM | The other two in production are the Oathsworn Slayers (dedicated to hunting evil dragons and dragon cultists) and the Old Faith Druids. Each metaregion can have 4 metaorgs. We are leaving our fourth open for future plot use. |
| bitznarf06-19-07, 02:05 PM | I believe that the VTF also has the 'Alliance' metaorg. Take a look on the Dyvers website for details. |
| ithardin06-19-07, 02:25 PM | You must be mistaken...there is no "alliance" of which you speak. |
| ithardin06-19-07, 02:29 PM | The Elven Clans of the Gnarley are in both Dyvers and Verbobonc, though there is a sentence worth of difference between the two certs. IUZ metaregion definitely wins in the "name that meta-org" contest! |

Fourth organisation, and my personal favourite, in Splintered Suns (Europe) are Knight Protectors of the Great Kingdom. I am not sure if we can convert the Aerdy Re-Enactment company as both orgs need to be the same, at least that what I was told way back... Sampo Haarlaa Naerie Triad |
| KarmaInferno06-19-07, 03:47 PM | The Knights of the Watch/Knights of Dispatch is more or less a meta-regional org in Sheldomar Valley, has been around since almost the beginning of LG. It's controlled in each region by the associated triad (who usually delegate to a volunteer), but Knights have authority across the meta-region, to varying degrees. My Knight for example has his home region as Keoland, but when he travels to Gran March he retains some authority as a law enforcement officer. -karma |
| Mithreinmaethor06-20-07, 04:59 AM | Where do you find meta-regions meta-orgs ? I know where to find each regions, but not each meta-regions |
| Lupo06-20-07, 07:50 AM | Where do you find meta-regions meta-orgs ? I know where to find each regions, but not each meta-regions the splintered sun yahoo group has a file section, with the meta-regional meta-organization document :) ciao martin m. |
| gomeztoo06-20-07, 08:19 AM | the splintered sun yahoo group has a file section, with the meta-regional meta-organization document :) Of course, you have to be a member of the group. There used to be an easier accessible metaregional site, but it was unfortunately discontinued (too much work for a place where you update documents once a year). Gomez |

Gomez becoming a member there isn't to complicated and the group's message traffic will definitely not block your mail box ;) maybe every regional website should have the metaregional documents as well, i will ask our triad about it. and yes, some regional websites around here are way behind current affairs as well :( ciao martin m. |
| Genghis Cohen06-20-07, 12:48 PM | ...So I was wondering if there was some larger meta-org opened to every druid, not just Yeoman druids, where my character could one day earn the full title of Druid within the Old Faith...Nothing currently available. The Sheldomar Valley has two meta-regional meta-orgs. Karma mentioned the Knights of the Watch/Displatch. The other one is the Silent Ones. I don't know if anything is planned for those last slots. |
| Britt06-20-07, 02:44 PM | maybe every regional website should have the metaregional documents as well, i will ask our triad about it. I actively discourage this in my metaregion. I like one point of access for documents. With multiple points, if something gets updated, you have problems with people downloading out of date documents until every point of access is updated. |
| Timlagor06-20-07, 09:53 PM | They should certainly have links. |
| LGMoses06-21-07, 01:41 AM | how do u join metaregional meta-orgs? Like the Knights of dispatch or silent ones or whatever was available for the sheldomar valley? |
| KarmaInferno06-21-07, 03:55 PM | how do u join metaregional meta-orgs? Like the Knights of dispatch or silent ones or whatever was available for the sheldomar valley? Probably the best way is to contact your local triad and ask them who the region point of contact is for those organizations. Although the Silent Ones tend to be one of those organizations that seem to be invite-only. Very secretive. -karma |

Their requirements have been "in the shop" for an extended period of time, and are now waiting for general release again. The requirements are also VERY restrictive, so even when they are available don't expect to just jump into the group. Sam Weiss - Silent Ones POC |
