Ok there were a few questions that popped up in the RPGA meeting last week.

Does having an affiliation score of 0 with a non greyhawk ruins
character mean that you could progress in that affiliation?

Answer: Yes.

Can you play parts one and two at gencon then go home and DM them then play parts 3 and 4?

Answer: Yes. If you play parts 1 and 2 and then DM them at any point you can still play parts 3 and 4 when they are available.

Yes, you may play the Adapted Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk with a character of the appropriate level whether or not it played in any of the Castle Greyhawk Ruins Core series of adventures. So, you could play the CGRs with a low level character, then play Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk with a wholly different higher level character.

How high a level will playing all the Greyhawk Ruins series of adventures put you?

Will you need to play X other adventures to be high enough level to play in the published mod when its released? What is X?

Their are only four Castle Greyhawk Ruins Core adventures, so they alone probably won't get a character to 8th-level, unless they offer outrageous gold and XP awards. Even with four "zones" per adventure, I doubt all four of them together get a character 28,000 XP. A character should certainly play enough adventures between and with the CGRs to get to 8th-level or close.

How many other adventures it may take individual characters I do not know. It all depends on how often a character plays up, or down, or dies in between, etc. Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk is for 8th-level characters, though. You could conceivably start to play the Adapted adventure at 5th-level...

It has previously been stated (can't find it at the moment) that the four CGR mods should take a PC to 5th level.

You could conceivably start the APL 8 Adpated Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk with a first level character, although I'm not one to recommend such things. I'm mentioning this to make sure that this isn't a mistaken "you must be within 3 levels of the APL" type references, or isn't taken as one.

The original description of the campaign arc suggested that the Greyhawk Ruins adventures plus the many Core mods being put out this year in Greyhawk environs would get the character to level 8.

Densac Queen, Heart's Desire, Sins of the Father and most other mods that have come out this summer are all set near Greyhawk, not to mention the whole slavers of the Pomarj arc that could by played by these characters.

So when is CGR2 (specifically, parts 3 and 4) set for release to the general gaming public?

The blurb for parts 3 & 4 is exactly the same as for parts 1 & 2, specifying that you must play a 1st level character. That makes no sense, as my character is now comfortably into 2nd level. Also, depending on party composition, I might not want to use that same character. What are the ACTUAL restrictions on characters playing CGR parts 3 & 4???

Thanks,
Marcia
